Welcome to the EQ8 Block Spotlight series! Each month we highlight a block from the EQ8 Block Library with a few design ideas. Then we want YOU to show us what you can do with the block. Whether you’re a brand new EQ8 user or a seasoned pro, come join in the fun! This month’s block: Flower Weave Where to find it: 02 Contemporary Pieced > Seminole Piecing A couple design ideas to get you started Here’s a simple horizontal layout using the Flower Weave block. I alternated it with a variation of the block I drew on the Block Worktable. I also drew a block to set in the border that would extend the center cross of the block into a point. My second quilt uses a Hexagonal layout from the Layout Library. I really like that center cross (or X as it looks in this diamond-shaped space!), so

Whether you’re a brand new EQ8 user or a seasoned pro, come join in the fun! This month’s block: Pinwheel Square Where to find it: 01 Classic Pieced > Five Patch A few design ideas to get you started This first quilt uses an on-point layout. A simplified version of the Pinwheel Square block is set in the center, with the original block set in the surrounding spaces. My second quilt starts with a layout from the library (Stars – 6 from Layouts by Style > Stars). I inserted an additional border to make the quilt rectangular; making the border wider on the top and bottom sides. Pinwheel Square and Double Irish Chain

Welcome to the EQ8 Block Spotlight series! Each month we highlight a block from the EQ8 Block Library with a few design ideas. Then we want YOU to show us what you can do with the block. Let’s get creative! This month’s block: Sunburst and Mills Where to find it: 01 Classic Pieced > Lone Stars A few design ideas to get you started It’s December, so I had to do a Christmas quilt, right? I colored the block to accentuate the pinwheels in the corners. The holly and berries motif is set on Layer 2 for the border. My second quilt was created using a Custom Set layout. I offset the blocks so I could set a square-in-a-square block to line up with the flying geese in the corners of the Sunburst block. I used one of my all-time favorite collections, Terrain by Kate Spain, to color the quilt.

Welcome to the EQ8 Block Spotlight series! Each month we highlight a block from the EQ8 Block Library with a few design ideas. Then we want YOU to show us what you can do with the block. Let’s get creative! This month’s block: Tulip Tree Leaves Where to find it: 04 Classic Applique > Crossing Designs A few design ideas to get you started The original block is used in the corners of this first quilt. The center variation block was created by deleting one of the blossoms and then using the WreathMaker feature. Then I used the Frame Block option in Create Serendipity on the WreathMaker block. This quilt also uses a layout from the library (On-Point Medallions – 28). Lots of EQ8 goodness packed into one quilt! The second quilt alternates between a “framed” version of the block and a “tilted” version of the block (both made using

Welcome to the EQ8 Block Spotlight series! Each month we highlight a block from the EQ8 Block Library with a few design ideas. Then we want YOU to show us what you can do with the block. Let’s get creative! This month’s block: Thin Leaf Where to find it: 03 Foundation Pieced > Leaves A few design ideas to get you started This unassuming little block may look a little plain, but I think that means it has tons of potential for creativity! In my two quilts below, I think it’s difficult to pick out the individual block. But both of these designs use only the featured block! For the quilt above, I created two Shrink & Flip versions of the Thin Leaf block using Create Serendipity. These two blocks are simply alternated in a horizontal layout. I could have set the original block in the quilt layout and done

Welcome to the EQ8 Block Spotlight series! Each month we highlight a block from the EQ8 Block Library with a few design ideas. Then we want YOU to show us what you can do with the block. Let’s get creative! This month’s block: Diamond Ring Where to find it: 02 Contemporary Pieced > Kaleidoscopes A few design ideas to get you started Fall is in the air! So I used what I like to call a “harvest palette.” The large square in the middle of this block was calling out for something special, so I set flower motifs on Layer 2 in the space. I also added quilting stencils on Layer 3. For my second design, I wanted to accentuate the star created in the corners where these blocks meet. This is an on-point layout (the second style) with the Number of Blocks set to 2 for both Horizontal and

Welcome to the EQ8 Block Spotlight series! Each month we highlight a block from the EQ8 Block Library with a few design ideas. Then we want YOU to show us what you can do with the block. Let’s get creative! This month’s block: Flowering Snowball Where to find it: 01 Classic Pieced > Orange Peels A few design ideas to get you started My first quilt uses an on-point layout. It alternates the original Flowering Snowball block with a variation I created with flying geese in the diagonals. Below is the original block (left) and the flying geese variation (right). The second quilt uses a vertical strip quilt layout. I drew a simple rectangular block with a triangle patch to set next to the snowball blocks. What would you design with the Flowering Snowball block? Post a quilt or two in the comments below. It can be as simple or
