This month’s block: Star Dahlia Where to find it: 02 Contemporary Pieced > Spinning Suns Design ideas to get you started My first quilt uses a layout from the library. This is the first quilt in the Layouts by Style > Special Effects section. I like how I can create fancy layouts using pre-designed options from the library, without the work of building them from scratch on custom set! The quilt below is a vertical strip layout. I alternated Pieced Blocks strips and Half Drop Blocks strips. The majority of the fabrics in the quilt are from the Songbook

This month’s block: Tulip from North Carolina Where to find it: 04 Classic Applique > Flowers Design ideas to get you started For my first quilt, I set the Tulip block in an on-point layout and alternated it with a block from the Cross Variations section of the Block Library (under the 02 Contemporary Pieced category). This month’s block: 8-Grid Chain Where to find it: 01 Classic Pieced > Chains Design ideas to get you started My first quilt uses the Stars – 1 layout from the Layout Library (Layouts by Style > Stars). I think just about every pieced block looks fun in this layout. Give it a try if you haven’t played with the Stars layout yet! My second quilt is an on-point layout with sashing. I colored the center blocks a darker shade and used lighter colors as I move out to the edges to create depth. I added more color

This month’s block: Comet Where to find it: 02 Contemporary Pieced > Kaleidoscopes Design ideas to get you started I think this block looks so different just by setting it in an on-point layout! At first glance, you may think this quilt is made up of two different blocks with some fancy interwoven sashing. But it’s just a 3 x 3 on-point layout with the Comet block set in every space. This month’s block: Checkerboard Where to find it: 01 Classic Pieced > Four X Design ideas to get you started This block is pretty simple, but that gives you plenty of space for creativity! I look forward to seeing what everyone does with this block. My first quilt is a 5 x 5 horizontal layout. I alternated the original Checkerboard block with a simplified version of the block where I deleted the lines in the center square. It is mostly colored with Tula Pink fabrics and I did a little fussy cutting with the floral print. The
