This month’s block: Plaid Knots Where to find it: 02 Contemporary Pieced > Knots Design ideas to get you started The first quilt is a 4 x 4 horizontal layout. The Plaid Knots block is in the center four block spaces. I edited the block to remove some lines for the blocks in the surrounding spaces. The quilt is colored with Quilter’s Linen fabrics, which come installed with EQ8. You can find them in the Fabric Library in the Manufacturer Basics > Robert Kaufman-Quilter’s Linen section. This month’s block: Rising Star Where to find it: 01 Classic Pieced > Compasses Design ideas to get you started This first design uses a Layout Library quilt from the Medallions–On-Point section. I used the Rising Star block and drew a single star point block to use in some of the clipped triangle spaces. For the second quilt I used a standard horizontal layout and alternated the Rising Star block with a block I drew on the Block Worktable. So I paired the tulips with one of the stained glass blocks from the 03 Foundation Pieced > Stained Glass Blocks section of the library. This month’s block: Nine Patch Art Square Where to find it: 01 Classic Pieced > Diamond in a Square Design ideas to get you started I used a standard 4×4 horizontal layout for my first quilt. I alternated the Nine Patch Art Square block with the default Mosaic, No. 2(2) block. Coloring this way gives the illusion of an on-point setting. For my second quilt, I used the Stars-19 layout from the library. The featured block is set in the center star point spaces and the default Nine Patch is set in the outer diamond spaces. I

This month’s block: Uneven Cross X Where to find it: 02 Contemporary Pieced > Good Alternate Blocks Design ideas to get you started This first quilt uses a vertical strip quilt layout. The strip styles alternate between Pieced Blocks and Half Drop Blocks and the Uneven Cross X block is set in all the spaces. My second quilt uses the Hexagonal – 1 layout from the Layout Library (Layouts by Style > Hexagonal). The featured block is used in the six center block spaces.
