EQ Block Challenge featuring Tonga Cabana!

We’re partnering with Timeless Treasures Fabrics to bring you a fun challenge featuring their Tonga Cabana by Daniela Stout collection! This block design challenge is open to all EQ7 users. How to Get Started Visit the Free Fabrics of the Month page and download the new Tonga Cabana by Daniela Stout collection. You can find instructions on that page about how to link the the Fabric Library to your EQ7. Challenge Rules You must design your block using Electric Quilt 7 (EQ7) design software. The block design must be colored with Tonga Cabana fabrics (you may add ONE solid color/fabric to the design). The block design can be pieced, appliqué, or both! Block must be at least 6” x 6”. Block designs do not need to be square. The block design can be an original drawing, or a block from the Block Library that you’ve colored your own way using

EQ7 Mystery Quilt in The Canadian Quilter

The Canadian Quilterhas written a great multi-part series, making a Mystery Quilt with EQ7. The first installment talks about fabrics – including importing your own fabrics, downloading them from manufacturers websites (Northcott has a button right on their site!) and installing our free fabric downloads, amongst other things. Lots of nice reviews and comments from EQ users too! We always love seeing that! Lots of good information too. Be sure to check it out!

Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks Blog Tour

Hello and welcome to my stop on the 100 Blocks Blog Tour! This is my first 100 Blocks issue and I’m so excited to be a part of the fun! My block even made the cover: Here it is a little closer, #825 Starry Path Redux: When I started thinking about designing a block for the magazine, I went to the EQ7 Block Library to look for inspiration. A block called Starry Path caught my eye: (Now you know where the name came from!) EQ7 has a fun feature called Serendipity that allows you to create new blocks without drawing. The feature uses blocks you’ve saved in the Sketchbook as a starting point to create new block designs.
