Updated on 03/14/2014. Thank you for your continued interest in our products, and especially this long-awaited EQ7 Mac release. We are trying to keep you as informed as we can with the release date and details. As with any product, we want to provide quality to our customers, therefore we will not release the product until we’re confident of its performance. Below are details as we have them now. You can also refer to our post from early January. When will the Mac version of EQ7 be available? We are releasing the Mac version to our *current Windows EQ7 users* first in the form of a downloadable migration kit. Migration kits for current EQ7 owners should be available early to mid-March. In the Winter 2014 issue of Modern Quilts Unlimited I have an article about making a modern family tree quilt, using EQ7, of course. I drew all the blocks, I scanned in photos of my family and put them all in the quilt. The article also talks about editing photos right in EQ7, drawing silhouettes, importing fabrics and much more. There is a Web Extra that explains, step-by-step on Modern Quilt’s Unlimited site on how to make this quilt here. You can also download the EQ7 project. It does accompany the article though, so be sure to get the magazine!
When Will the Mac Version of EQ7 Be Released? We had hoped to be ready to release a Mac version of EQ7 in January. We are continuing to work on the program and will keep you advised as to our progress. Downloadable Software for Purchase Since many of the computers on the market now are being manufactured without CD/DVD drives, both PC and Mac, we knew this was something we would need to develop before we released EQ7 for Mac. We have started to incorporate the ability to download software from our website. We released our first downloadable software for purchase in December. Read more about EQ Stash Online! Accommodating Our Existing Users The development of the Mac version was intended for a “new” audience of quilters. But, we have a large user-base of EQ7 users who run the Windows version of EQ7 on their Macs via Parallels or some
2014 is almost upon us! Last year at this time I posted about Quilting Resolutions. The focus of that post was using EQ to help you finish up UFOs that may be laying around your sewing room. You could have quilt tops that need borders, or you completed a block of the month for 2013 and now you have no idea what to do with all those finished blocks! This post shows you how to use photos of those sewn elements to design with in EQ7. Maybe your goal for 2014 is a bit more broad and you’d just like to use your EQ7 more. We’ve got plenty of resources to help you learn! Click here to check out the Lessons section on Do You EQ. You’ll find free lessons on a wide variety of topics. You can still access all the sew along lessons for the EQ7 Summer Drawing

Much of the US was covered with snow and ice this weekend, so I thought it would be a good time to show off the snow themed blocks in the EQ7 Block Library. Finding these blocks is easy! In the Block Library, click the Search button > By Notecard. Type “snow” in the Search box. Check all the boxes underneath and click the Search button. Here are just a few of my favorite snow blocks! If you need a warm-up after looking at all the snow blocks, do another search for the word “hot” and you’ll find this yummy Hot Latte block!
