As promised here is BLOCK #1 of our 2011 Block of the Month on our blog. It’s called January Jumble.
Deadline for submitting your block picture to webmaster@electricquilt.com for a chance to win is February 18, 2011 8am Eastern.
Click here to download the EQ7 project for January.
Use any fabrics you want! Use your favorites! Challenge yourself with a new color scheme! If you have EQ7, you can try out the colors before cutting the fabric for the block.

Sew the block and send your picture to webmaster@electricquilt.com. If you send in the picture, you get one entry for the contest to win a free Kaleidoscope Collection CD (add-on for EQ5, EQ6, or EQ7) in February. Each month we’ll have a new prize, so email in a picture of your quilt block to enter. (One entry per person per month.) Pictures will be added to this blog in a Finished Blocks post with your name. A winner will be chosen on February 18, 2011 for January’s block.
Don’t worry about sending a professional photograph. As long as it isn’t on too much of an angle and I can see the whole block and the image is over 400px, I can crop it for the blog.
New block patterns will be posted at the beginning of each month. (Sorry this one is late.)
If you would like to be notified when the new pattern is available, you can do any of the following:
1. Subscribe to our newsletter.
2. Fan us on Facebook.
3. Subscribe to RSS feeds of this blog.
Note: These block patterns are for personal use only. Please do not include them in published works.

What is the finished size of these squares?
It is showing 6″ on the bottom of printed template but when it opens in EQ7 it is showing as 9″?
Thanks!

Hi Beth,
You can make the blocks any size you want… just make them all the same. I have the PDFs and quilt set at 6″ as far as I know. I may have drawn the block on a grid of 9.
If you have EQ7, go ahead and print out the pattern whatever size you want. I’m working with 6″ as my guide though.
Best wishes,
Andrea @ EQ
