This month we are spotlighting Debbie Lovas! Debbie is a longtime EQ user who has designed and sewn many quilts for her family, veterans, and other deserving individuals. “This quilt is the very first quilt I ever made,” says Debbie. “It was for my oldest granddaughter, Ciara, who is now 27. I called it, ‘Challenge Your Limits.’ It took me almost a year to make it. I finished in 2011. This is also before I purchased EQ7 and then upgraded to EQ8. “This quilt was designed on EQ8 after I had joined Quilts of Valor. I

Welcome to our blog series, Do You EQ Too? Each month, we will spotlight a different EQ user and their quilts! If you haven’t already, you can read our introduction post here. This month we are spotlighting Chris Behme! “I was a quilter from 1994-2000, when I dropped sewing for knitting,” says Chris. “I have since returned to quilting after building a new house in 2017 and covering 13 windows with Roman Shades and valances. The search for window treatments and home decor led me down a rabbit’s hole into a return to quilting. I quilt with the Mudsock Quilters Guild in Fishers, Indiana and have started tutoring guild members in my EQ8 knowledge. I try to submit challenges each month, but a busy schedule of quilting, grand-kids, and life have prevented my attempts this year. But I do enjoy looking at what others have created and have saved projects from past challenges!” Check

As much as I use EQ8, there is still so much I haven’t learned about the program. Always learning something!” Take a look at Sue’s lovely designs below! “I had made a beach bag for my 7 yr old

This month we are spotlighting Pamela Pandolfi! Pam uses EQ8 to design custom quilts that utilize fabric, thread, paint, and ink to create beautiful pieces of art. “As a part of a multi-generation family of crafters — and 19-year proprietor of an alterations/costume design business,” says Pam, “it wasn’t until participating in my first quilting retreat in 2007 that I recognized quilting as my passion and avenue of personal artistic creativity. Although I do not hold an art degree, and never considered myself an artist until recently. In learning about quilting, I discovered that quilting has more to do with ‘trouble shooting’ than perfection as long as it looks good to the viewer (totally my opinion). Art also follows that same ‘perfection

In 2000, I took a beginner quilting class and loved it. After making my 1st quilt in the class, I started buying quilting books and learned how to design my own quilts. Within a short time, I started designing and making patterns to sell on a website I created. At a

This month we are spotlighting Jutta Hufnagel! Jutta is a quilter and co-owner of Quilt Around the World, a one-stop location for EQ8 for German speaking quilters. She started with EQ4 to assist in designing her own quilts, and by EQ7 Jutta began to help others learn the software by providing a German translation of the user manual. “I used printouts from EQ for the classes I taught at that time,” says Jutta, “and for a short period in the early 2000s, I even occasionally made a sort of mini quilting magazine for the quilting group I belonged to. Quite a few quilters told me that they found Electric Quilt very tempting, but that they feared their English was not good enough to master
