Welcome to our blog series, Do You EQ Too? Each month, we will spotlight a different EQ user and their quilts! If you haven’t already, you can read our introduction post here.
This month we are spotlighting Chris Behme!

Chris Behme
“I was a quilter from 1994-2000, when I dropped sewing for knitting,” says Chris. “I have since returned to quilting after building a new house in 2017 and covering 13 windows with Roman Shades and valances. The search for window treatments and home decor led me down a rabbit’s hole into a return to quilting. I quilt with the Mudsock Quilters Guild in Fishers, Indiana and have started tutoring guild members in my EQ8 knowledge. I try to submit challenges each month, but a busy schedule of quilting, grand-kids, and life have prevented my attempts this year. But I do enjoy looking at what others have created and have saved projects from past challenges!”
Check out some of Chris’ beautiful quilts below!
“The quilt I am posing with is a wedding gift to my daughter, the original pattern was a QAL with Gigi’s Thimble, but it’s the only photo I have of me posing with a quilt I made. I used my EQ8 program to upsize the layout and audition quilting.”

“This was a request from a friend who had a limited amount of yardage and wanted to do a Carpenter’s Star. As you can see, she ended up having to wing it on the last border and a change was made. But at least the mock up I did gave her a direction.”

“Each year I take part in a Stay At Home Round Robin challenge hosted by Quilting Gail.”

“I also use my EQ8 to audition quilting. This is the Edita Star QAL from 2020, a top waiting for quilting too, but at least I have a plan of action started.”

Hi Chris! I can attest to your wonderful EQ8 skills and your willingness to share them with others. My only regret is that I don’t live closer to you for some one-on-one tutoring. Someday! Great article and great quilts you’ve shared. Your mock-ups always look like your finished product. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne
