My New Year’s Resolution is to spend as much time on myself (getting at those UFO’s and doing some hardcore creating) as i spend on everyone else.
So rather like everything in the house coming to a silent halt when my Dad was watching some sport – so will mine when i enter EQ mode.

EQ was the first adult coloring to take place. I love creating something with EQ and then recoloring it time after time. I also love to double check any pattern I intend to sew by creating it on EQ first. This gives me a chance to mentally walk through the steps in the pattern and to also check the accuracy of the fabric yardage. Couldn’t quilt without EQ.

Oh Gosh! I got goosebumps from my journey back in time. I saw that first video on my local PBS station in Dayton Ohio. When was that? The mid 80s? (I moved to Dayton in 1984 and made my first quilt in 1985)
I remember being too cheap to have cable so weekend days found me watching PBS. (my previous jobs always required me to work on Saturdays). The other 3 or 4 stations I got was nothing but sports on the weekends. I was lucky tho, we could get the PBS stations from Cincinnati and Columbus too!
I’d always planned to make a quilt, in fact there were lots of pieces cut out back home in my closet at my parent’s home (in Bowling Green Ohio!) I’d always saved all the unused fabrics from the clothing I’d sewn just for that purpose (I’d watched my grandmother do the same). I was just beginning to hear about this internet thing, it sounded complicated, not something I would ever have. But maybe one day, I’d get a computer and I could throw away my graph paper (for designing quilts), and calculator (for calculating fabric needed), wouldn’t that be exciting?

Awesome to be a part of the EQ family as an EQ Artist and celebrate the 25 years of this software that enables us to play with quilt designs in a much easier way than trial and error with the fabric. Thank you EQ!

WooHoo! 25 Years! Congrats, EQ! I finally broke down and bought EQ7(didn’t think I was techie enough before) and love, love, love it! Plus, my “quilties” (isn’t that what you call buds that quilt? Instead of “homeies”?) and I get together monthly and share with each other what we’ve discovered we can do in EQ—wow, are there some neat features! So Happy Birthday!

I have used EQ in my quilting classes for years. Students love to see the designs in the color ways they are thinking about using. Also It makes it so easy to show them how blocks can be rotated to change the look, plus many more things.. It is such a plus in teaching. I know shop owners have sold a lot of EQ programs just from seeing it in class. I started with Version #2.

Right now I love Quilting Arts magazine but I don’t have any subscriptions because I have so many projects lined up. I’ve subscribed to many magazines in my 18 years of quilting and I have binders full of projects just waiting to be made. Winning fabric would be wonderful.

Congratulations on your 25th Anniversary! I started using EQ back in the late ’90′s or 2000. I am not a pro, but I’ve learn over the years and enjoy “mimicking” a quilt before actually cutting up my fabric. It has saved me many yards of fabric! Love my EQ7….thank you!

Would love to win but if not EQ7 is still a winner. So versatile and the tips and lessons especially on line are great especially for someone like me from Australia.
