Don’t forget you still have time to submit January’s block to webmaster@electricquilt.com. (A winner will be chosen for January on February 18th.)
After this, blocks will be posted and winners will be chosen on the first of the month.
Here is BLOCK #2 of our 2011 Block of the Month on our blog. It’s called February Frolic. Deadline for submitting your “February Frolic” block picture for a chance to win is March 1, 2011 8am Eastern.
Click here to download the EQ7 project for February.
Use any fabrics you want! Use your favorites! Challenge yourself with a new color scheme! If you have EQ7, you can try out the colors before cutting the fabric for the block.

Sew the block and send your picture to webmaster@electricquilt.com. If you send in the picture, you get one entry for the contest to win a free Town & Country Patchwork software in March. Each month we’ll have a new prize, so email in a picture of your block to enter. (One entry per person per month.) Pictures will be added to this blog in a Finished Blocks post with your name. A winner will be chosen on March 1, 2011 for February’s block.
Don’t worry about sending a professional photograph. As long as it isn’t on too much of an angle and I can see the whole block and the image is over 400px, I can crop it for the blog.
If you would like to be notified when the new pattern is available, you can do any of the following:
1. Subscribe to our newsletter.
2. Fan us on Facebook.
3. Subscribe to RSS feeds of this blog.
Note: These block patterns are for personal use only. Please do not include them in published works.

Hi Dottie!
I hope you have fun with the Block of the Month. The blocks are ALL NEW and yet straight-forward enough for everyone to be able to sew them. If you do decide to join us, I’d love to see your block. Send me a picture and I’ll post it in the gallery for January. (webmaster@electricquilt.com)

Hi Kathie,
Yes, you can still get the block. It is available in an EQ7 project and as a rotary cutting PDF, template PDF, and foundation pattern PDF. Check the links above and let me know if you still have questions.

Kathie – I also had trouble finding the January BOM pattern. I found it at:

I have marked all the Block of the Month posts as a new category. So if you want to see anything BOM related, look at the right side of this screen where it says Social Follow, Search the EQ Blog, and click on the dropdown box for EQ Blog Categories. Choose 2011 Block of the Month. You’ll have a lot less to search through to find what you need.

Hi Gloria,
No it’s not too late to join! Go ahead and make the Jan/Feb/Mar blocks. If you finish the April block before May 1, email me a picture at webmaster@electricquilt.com and I’ll post it in the April gallery.
The main page for the block of the month is here. You’ll find all the patterns/galleries/announcements archived here:

Your question is answered on the FAQ page:
https://doyoueq.com/blog/?p=2114
There will be 12 main blocks. Depending on how you choose to “color” them, will determine how many fabrics you need. The four sample colorways use anywhere from 4-7 fabrics per block. The amount of yardage you need for all the blocks depends on how many fabrics you’re using to color the blocks. When I printed yardage from EQ7, it was about 1/2 yard per color, 1 yard for background fabric (brown) when I was using all 7 colors to color all the blocks. I would buy extra for alternate blocks, borders, binding, and backing though.
I hope this helps.
Best wishes,
Andrea @ EQ
