Loved seeing the colorful entries come in for the Rose Whispers challenge! Check out the beautiful entries we received here! Thanks to all who participated! Winners Two winners were selected… one by Benartex and the other by Eleanor Burns herself! A big congrats to…. Benartex’s choice: Amanda Riddle “My goal was to showcase the beautiful, large floral prints in Rose Whispers while using the rich, dark colors to frame out those patterns. I started with the simple idea of using a double sawtooth star block and made everything else up as I went. I really enjoyed joining this competition for the first time using the EQ8 software for the first time!” – Amanda And… Eleanor Burns’ choice: Pat Rother “This is such a lovely collection I chose a scrappy palette and a simple, traditional block to showcase many of the fabrics. I love stripes in sashing and binding and Eleanor’s were
EQ users were very inspired by the Coco Chic collection! Check out the very cool entries we received here! Thanks to all who participated! Winners Two winners were selected by QT Fabrics and will each receive a bundle of Coco Chic! Congratulations to… Sharon Wasteney “I love combining machine applique with creative piecing. The color palette reminded me more of the art nouveau period than art deco so a few curves to compliment the geometric fabric. I would make this using the dimensional cathedral window border with the “windows” pieced to chevron the stripes surrounding the center bouquet.” And…. Judy Knesel “Glad to be back. I wanted to make something for these fabrics that is reminiscent of the Art Deco age of the 1920′s. I love the Gatsby look of this quilt.” Thanks again to all who participated in this challenge. If you’re looking for another chance to win fabric, check
The entries submitted to this challenge may be some of the coolest ones we’ve gotten in any challenge! Check them out here! Thanks to all who participated! Winners Two winners were randomly selected and will each receive a bundle of PURE SOLIDS from Art Gallery Fabrics! Congratulations to… Deborah Scanlon “I’m still not all that great at designing things in EQ but I keep plugging away at it. Solids are my favorite to quilt with. Even old classics look fresh and modern when quilted with solids and AGF has always been my favorite and first choice in fabrics. Thanks for the nice giveaway too.” Love that mix of colors! Congrats Deborah! Jackie Rigert “I’ve been seeing so many beautiful wool applique quilts. When I saw these beautiful colors, I couldn’t help but try to recreate them in clear crisp solids. This where I ended up…” That colorful applique is stunning!

I love the range of colors and how this quilt pops!” Christa’s Choice: Elizabeth Wickes “I call this the Color Maze and it is meant to showcase the low volume/high volume and contrasting colorways of Good Vibes! The high volume prints are on the outside with the longest lines and the low volume are on the inside. Fun patterns when you
As always, we received so many beautiful entries in the Illuminations challenge! (See them in the original post here.) Thanks to everyone for participating! Winners There are two winners for this challenge; both selected randomly. Each will receive a bundle of the Illuminations fabrics – YAY!! Congratulations to….. Donna Royson “Using the 54-40-or fight block as guidance, I designed this quilt but had some challenges with needing the borders to complete the secondary pattern of circles. The block is 12″ containing (9) 4″ units. For the first border, and to complete the circle, I only needed half of the 4″. So, I created two borders with width of 2″ each. The first border is defined as Blocks and I was able to insert the proper blocks to complete the circle. It was quite a challenge but well worth the trouble!” Judy Knesel “I created about 20 different designs with this fabric
Have you seen the beautiful entries submitted to the Sommersville challenge?! (See them in the original post here.) Thanks to everyone for participating! Winners There are two winners for this challenge: one that Maywood Studio chose, and one that was selected randomly. Each will receive a bundle of the Sommersville fabrics – YAY!! Congratulations to….. Maywood Studio’s Choice: Jan Beckert “This is a very pretty, and versatile, fabric line! I especially like the border stripes. It was hard to choose my favorites! I used some fussy-cutting and fabric rotation to make these blocks.” Randomly Selected Winner: Heartland Honey “Different layout of the rings. I love the way the colors work together and do a gentle fade from one into the other. I also like the pop of the dark background. I think it modernizes the traditional quilt.” Again, you can see all the fabulous entries in the original
Have you seen the awesome entries submitted to the Pin Drop challenge?! (See them in the original post here.) Thanks to everyone for participating! Winners Riley Blake Designs couldn’t narrow it to just one, so they chose THREE winners! That means three lucky designers will receive a bundle of the Pin Drop fabrics – YAY!! Congratulations to the following people… Kim W: “My entry is called “Prismatic Pin Drop.” I was struck by how the prints in this collection, especially on the darker colors, look a bit like stars in the night sky, so I was inspired to do a star theme. Also, the thin points of these stars are a little like pins! There is no curved piecing in this pattern; the illusion of curves comes from the half square triangles meeting the triangle in a square blocks. The use of a pieced border allows the design to continue out
