Thanks everyone for voting! The winning color scheme is letter B!
As promised here are the details on the fun, year-long blog series for next year…
It’s a Sew-Along with the EQ staff! Lots of us are quilters but some of us are not. To give everyone a chance to learn more about quilting we’re each sewing a block that will then be made into a quilt. Each month one staff member will be featured along with their block. (It just so happens we have 12 employees!)
You can sew along with us and make your own version of the quilt (download the EQ8 project here), or just follow our journey through the blog posts and get to know a little more about the people behind EQ! Each staff member will get to choose how they’d like to construct their block and we may even have a special guest appearance from the AccuQuilt GO! cutter during the year!
Here’s the quilt we’ll be sewing:
We’ll be using Color Club fabrics designed by Heather Valentine from Windham fabrics. (The fabrics are included in the project but they are also available as the May 2023 Fabric of the Month download, too!)
Or, recolor any way you’d like. Then check your Fabric Yardage Estimate to see what you’ll need to make your quilt.
Hopefully, we’ll learn more about quilting, you’ll learn more about us (and EQ8), and we’ll all have fun!

I am unable to download the project any suggestions?

Hi Janice! What happens when you try to download? Do you get any error messages?

Error message states the project is not found, if you try to Open the file.
If you do a Save As, you can save it in your EQ8 Project file, then Open it through EQ8. The file name is EQStaffSewAlong.pj8. Not convenient but it works.

Looks like fun! I love the stories that are written as a quilt is constructed. I will enjoy yours.

I don’t think I’ve ever done a sew along; can’t wait to do this with everyone.

How is the quilt to be laid out–the blocks all different sizes??? Or are we supposed to make all the blocks the same finished size?

Hi Mary Jane,
All the blocks we are making (and in the project) are 12 inches (finished). If you’d like to make them different sizes you can edit the quilt in the project. If you have any other questions, please email techsupport@electricquilt.com and we’ll be happy to help further.
