What a beautiful block. I made my block 8′ finished size and foundation pieced sections of the wedges rather than using templates. While a bit tricky at first this worked well and produced very p[recise points. Can’t wait to see all the other blocks.

I saw Halloween candy corn! That inspired the colors. Complications arose, it took me two blocks and an entire day to be satisfied with the results. Definitely a candidate for foundation piecing for me.

Great choice for the second block. There are so many options for fabric placement that this block could easily be a focal point in your finished quilt. I’m making two quilts from this sew along, so this is my first colorway.

It required some thought before sewing the block together. It was fun.

This was alittle challenging, I think I should have made it 8″ instead of 6″ it would have looked better. It’s a learning process for me and I think if I take pictures of all my quilt blocks I can improve on the sewing.

Great job everyone! I hope to see more blocks coming in over the weekend. I hope I didn’t scare anyone off with this more complex block. I promise block 3 will be an easier sew!

I sure hope so! I’ve been quilting for 25 years and teaching for about 15. This one was tough even for me. I don’t mind a challenge but I sure did not liek this block. Next one will be much better I hope.

Love this block, but have to admit that it gave me fits trying to get all those pieces to line up the right way! I’m making my blocks 6″, but I think I’ll do this one again, possibly making it 10″ this time!

I am using Moda fat quarters from my stash in shades of burgandy, green, blue, and beige to make my blocks. I plan to use a Thimbleberries fabric, Lodge & Lakeside, from my stash for a border.

After seeing all the Sew Along bock 1′s, I realized that I could use any color I wanted to in any placement. Why had I never thought of this before. So I hope you like the block as it now looks. I am learning a lot and I have been quilting for more than 25 years.

Since I’m making my blocks 4″ these tiny pieces were a real bear to work with. I did finally settle on re-numbering the pattern sections in EQ and then it was a bit easier.
