A friend asked me to make a baby quilt, she provided me with a picture of the baby’s room. The walls were done in grey, white and yellow stripes of various widths, the curtains were the same colours only in a zig zag pattern and I noticed there was picture of elephants on the wall and a small elephant ornament on a table so I designed the quilt around these elements. The elephants on the quilt are machine applique. For the back of the quilt I pieced strips of the colours in various widths to match the wall design. Once the quilt was done I had enough fabric left to make a stuffed elephant to go with the quilt.
