I went on with the Z block I drafted for the first quilt, merging it with other blocks I drafted. I challenged myself to design a quilt that would not be ‘neat’ and symmetrical, but looking random and scrappy. I set the blocks in a Custom Set quilt, and made some of the blocks rectangular.

I did make sure the quilt can actually be assembled easily by machine, by confining clusters of blocks to rectangular sections.

I am not completely happy with it, but maybe I just have to get used to the messy look.
