I originally made the thin black stripes 1/4″ wide.  It did not look right so I tried to make them 1/8″ wide.  When I did that, I could no longer make them straight or parallel.  I also had the block “crash” on me.  Ithink that the arcs and me trying to get the lines straight made too many nodes.  So, I converted everything to guidelines and started over.  This at least kept it from crashing again even though I was not able to get straight and parallel line.
