I designed this block/quilt for the Alzheimer’s Art Quilt Initiative. I am hoping to actually make and submit it in October in memory of my grandfather. The quilt represents a phenomenon a lot of Alzheimer’s patients experience–sundowning.
I had a fun time figuring out how to make a mirror image block and quilt on point. I had to keep turning my head sideways to figure out the angles.
I originally used this block in a block-of-the-month quilt that I designed to show how to use the tri-recs rulers “backwards” to make the corner blocks.
My next challenge will be to make this block, which was originally 12″, in a 6″ size to meet the Alzheimer’s Art Quilt Initiative requirements.

Would you post the eq block? This is beautiful. One of my relatives has dementia and suffers from sundowing. I’d love to make this in her honor.
