Using 2 flying geese blocks from the EQ library and a star quilt layout I rotated the blocks to create the quilt design. The blocks in the sides and corners I drew. The side blocks are placed on Layer 2 and clipped at the edge of the quilt center so when drawing the arc I had to be sure that the arc would be within the quilt center when the block was clipped at the quilt edge. An auto border was added.

I have only done a small mug rug using paper piecing but I was so pleased with the result I want to try something larger now. This looks really complicated but might be a bit too much of a jump from the mug rug, at this stage. Love the design though.

Judy, this is amazing! I love the soft arcs between the star points, This just makes me say, how did she do that… Now don’t ask me to sew it, I don’t do paper piecing Fantastic job!!

Hi Jo, Thanks for your comments. I don’t really do paper piecing either. I have only made 1 quilt using paper piecing. I have to admit it makes complicated blocks come out perfectly but I’m still not sure paper piecing is for me. In any event it’s fun to design them.
