Designed for the July 2012 ClubEQ challenge: Birds.
This quilt consists of eighteen 10-inch blocks set on-point. I used photos of colorful, tropical-type birds printed on inkjet fabric, for the center of each block.
The outer border uses a fabric designed with peacock feathers.
The remainder of the block piecing, the sashing, and the two inner borders and binding were chosen from coordinating fabrics.
I’ve used a red-orange for a “pop” of color where the sashing intersects, to compliment the orange-red plumage of some of the birds.
