I found this quilt in a search on 30s quilts. I like that the block is not the usual square shape, I also like the geometry of the pieced pansy block and the applique leaf block. I drew the blocks since I didn’t find them in the EQ library or BlockBase. This is very similar to the quilt I found.
Every year in Rochester, NY, my birthplace, 18 miles from Brockport, there is a Lilac festival in Highland Park, a park designed by Frederick Olmstead. Part of the festival is the pansy bed. It is planted in a different design every year. It reminds me of a quilt.
