I wanted to highlight a very typical feature of Dutch landscapes in my quilts, namely that of water standing higher than land.
The water is only kept out by dykes and windmills or pumps. This is due to the fact that large parts of the country are below sea level.
In this design I used a block from BlockBase, alternated with blocks I drafted myself, for the lower land and the raised water behind the dykes.
