Here is a little different take on the settings for the 9 patches. I made a wreath of corts with eight of the blocks and put the 9th focus block in the middle. The 9 patches play a supporting role to the applique lace, but they also add a neat lacey effect. I repeated the nine patches in the centers of the two interlocking blocks that both form the frame within the center wreath s well as the corner frames onthe quilt’s center border. I colored this using Moda’s Mid-winter Reds … but the airy applique also reminds me of summer quilts. I can see putting this on my “someday” list.
Whil I colored the patch ooutlines with a matching thread, this is still best viewed with patch outline OFF.
