Again, I used the neat “Create Quilt from Block” feature of EQ7 and drew this layout in the summer of 2010. On an 8 grid, I drew a 1×2 horizontal space with two 1×2 vertical spaces side by side below it. In the next column, this unit-of-3 was placed a step down. (Easier to see than to explain!)
For this quilt design, the ’8 Grid Chain Variation’ block from the EQ library was used. I drew half of the block for the step-down spaces. The auto border is ‘Two Birds in the Air’.

Crazy cool! Love the ordered chaos. It is amazing what rotating a block can do for a quilt design.
