Designed for the clubEQ challenge for February, 2014: Diamonds!
The Russians chose to use diamond patchwork for the banners for the Olympic events to symbolize diversity not only in their own culture but in cultures around the world. Quilters are celebrating the attention to their craft as a means of unifying interests in many arts and crafts.
This design is based on 60-degree diamonds created with an original block with diamond patchwork and shaped with the Serendipity tool. Colors used are the same as those of the Olympic rings.
