Quilt 1: Twelve of Eleven by Penny Pritchard

Block by Penny Pritchard

About The Quilt:
My only inspiration was the thought to finally make a quilt with a strip setting, and the diamond-in-the-square pattern that was common to all the blocks. The final quilt is not at all what I had been planning throughout the year!

Quilt 2: by Joanne

About The Quilt:
Thank-you so much for forcing me to learn more about EQ!! I had lots of fun and I know I will be getting more use out of EQ than I already do (which is for just about every quilt I make as it is!!).

Quilt 3: Blocking with EQ by Linda Erickson

About The Quilt:
I was the designer, maker and quilter.
The inspiration was a pretty black and brown sort of African print that I decided to use in each of my blocks. I added a black and white print in each block also to spark up the tan, brown and gold fabrics. I selected a pattern from one of the Quiltmaker quilt design CDs for quilting on the alternate blocks.
Thanks! for doing all of this for us, your EQ users

Quilt 4: Black/white/red Safari by JoAnn Korzenko

About The Quilt:
My inspiration for the quilt was the fabric.  I love animal prints and have been slowly building my black and white stash, so when this quilt came along, well then all of those fabrics jumped out at me and I finally had a perfect project to use those prints.

Quilt 5: One from Two by Nancy Anderson

About The Quilt:
I had the applique block that needed a border, and the BOM blocks were in similar colors so I decided to use the beige color for sashing and combine the two.
Sincerely, Nancy

Quilt 6: Crazy for the Red by Mary Markworth

About The Quilt:
I designed and made the quilt top. It’s not quilted yet. I added an additional block I had left when I accidentally made a block too small and added tiny sashing to bring it up to size.
I just love the combination of black, white and red. It was fun to find tiny motifs for the centers of some of the blocks.

Quilt 7: Sea Glass by Barbara D’Angelo

About The Quilt:
The quilt is named Sea Glass, the colors of these batiks and the many shapes of the pieces of the blocks remind me of my jar of sea glass gathered from many places, reflecting the colors of the sea in all kinds of weather.

Quilt 8: Black & White Medley by Arlene Slotter

About The Quilt:
Made the quilt using the monthly design with a strong desire to make a black and white with red accent quilt. These monthly designs met my desire perfectly.

Quilt 9: Focus on the Center by Rebecca Belsaas

About The Quilt:
This was pretty much a scrap quilt except for the one focus fabric (print batik) that is in every block. I kept running out of fabric. I ended up with a 1 inch square of my focus fabric when the blocks were done. Didn’t have any of it for the setting. Plan on using this as a lap quilt in my home.

Quilt 11: Spinner by Marlene Oddie

About The Quilt:
I designed, made and quilted it. Still working on the binding. I’m putting together a piped binding with prairie points.
I wanted to feature the light to dark shades of green and purple and give myself space for some special quilting. By accident the ombre in the background repeated every 8”, even though it is a 22” repeat in the actual fabric. When I saw the effect, I had to make it happen! By putting half dark to light, and the other half light to dark, I was able to use the fabric more efficiently and doesn’t seem to detract from the design idea. Batiks are used in the blades. Cotton Sateen ombre grey is used in the background. The batting is a layer of warm & white and a layer of wool. Adding the textures and ribbon in the quilting was a new milestone for me.

Quilt 12: Enchanted Jewels by Sandy Rodgers

About The Quilt:
Credit: EQ for the blocks. I designed the setting, pieced and quilted the quilt.
Inspiration: I was inspired by a batik charm pack I had and thought this may be the perfect project. When it came time to set the blocks, I knew I wanted turquois in the setting and something that would have a southwestern look.

Quilt 13: Grandma’s Ivy by Kay Ahr

About The Quilt:
Grandma had ivy crawling around her back porch and back yard. For a few years she even had ivy wallpaper in her kitchen. The garden plots were long rectangles along the street, across the back alley, and along the house next door. At certain times of the day you could see the sunshine shadows through the picket fence. And there always seemed to be that rich brown soil showing between the green sprouts of Spring flowers. And there always seemed to be a mud puddle right outside the door where I played with my cousins.
