“I’m a country quilter and all of my quilts are made out of old sheets, curtains, and worn out clothing, so being able to design a quilt using the brand new Choose to Be fabric was exciting. With my patchwork, I always use traditional quilt blocks and quilt on my home sewing machine. “I chose a star block for my pattern. I think star blocks are my favorite. This block is called a Lattice Star. I tried other blocks and different quilt layouts before choosing this one. I wanted to be able to use as many of the fabrics as I could. I got most of them. I wanted this design to be clean and allow the fabric to shine. Hence the name of the design, ‘Colleen, Pure and Simple.’” - LaTawnia Porter
