Welcome to the EQ8 Block Spotlight! Each month we highlight a block from the EQ8 Block Library with a few design ideas. Then we want you to show us what you can do with the block.

Design ideas to get you started
With Valentine’s Day just a few days away, I couldn’t help but pick a heart block for this month’s post! My first quilt is a Valentine’s Day tablerunner. I used a variety of Art Gallery Fabrics that can be found in Stash 2020 Download 02. Curious how to make a quilt with pointed ends like this? Check out this Design & Discover lesson!
For my second quilt, I downloaded an upcoming Ruby Star Society collection from Moda’s website. The collection is called First Light and I just love how it sparkles! The layout is a vertical strip quilt, with alternating Pieced Blocks and Half Drop Blocks strips. I also flipped every other block for a little more interest.
Visit our Support site for directions on how to download a manufacturer’s fabrics.
What would you design with the Striped Heart block? Post a quilt or two in the comments below. It can be as simple or as complex as you’d like (it just has to use the featured block!).
If you’d like to to turn off the black outlines around the patches like I have in the quilts above, click the Hide/show quilt patch outlines button on the main toolbar before exporting your images. For more help with this feature, visit the Support site.
