Answer is definitely “A”. I have been using EQ for years ( still have my original EQ for DOS floppy disk). It’s definitely my favorite software toy!
08-10-2016
9:06 am
C. I would LOVE to have EQ7. I have the Quilting Design Wizard, but have decided it’s just a tease!
08-10-2016
9:19 am
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA LOVE IT!
08-10-2016
9:20 am
I hate to admit it but my answer is B, I just don’t use my EQ enough. I upgraded to stitch this past year and I have yet to produce anything. Too many hobbies.
08-10-2016
9:20 am
My answer is B. I have EQ7 but am just starting to use it a little bit.
08-10-2016
9:21 am
For me, it’s B. The software is excellent, I just don’t have as much time to use it as I’d like.
08-10-2016
9:21 am
I have EQ7 and love it, but I don’t use it as much as I should
08-10-2016
9:22 am
Definitely A. I use EQ to preview fabrics in quilts or sewing projects. Being able to scan and import fabrics make my selections much easier to visualize.
08-10-2016
9:22 am
A – I trial all of my quilt designs in EQ before cutting any fabric.
08-21-2016
9:08 pm
I liked your answer. I don’t use EQ enough but I will use your idea, thanks
08-10-2016
9:22 am
I have EQ7. I have been playing with it but waiting for International Quilt Festival to come to Houston so I can take a hands on class. Cant wait.
08-10-2016
9:22 am
B. But only because I need to take a class. Keep offering those beginner classes and sometime one will fit into my schedule. I would have gone to Denver but I am in Europe and don’t see anything else scheduled.
08-10-2016
9:22 am
Option A fits – I have EQ and couldn’t live without it. I open it almost every day.
08-10-2016
9:22 am
I am a C. Sure would LOVE to have EQ!! Thanks for the opportunity to win one!
08-10-2016
9:23 am
A !!!
08-10-2016
9:23 am
B–but I love it when I use it.
08-10-2016
9:23 am
answer is c, I have never really seen EQ nor do I know anyone who owns it
but, I really enjoy trying to make or pixelate patterns on my computer
it takes a long time I think a quilting design program would be great
08-10-2016
9:23 am
I am a beginner and LOVE it! A. I couldn’t live without it!
08-10-2016
9:23 am
A is my answer. I don’t like the thought of spending many hours on a quilt and then not liking my choice of colors. EQ helps me visualize the end result.
08-10-2016
9:24 am
A definately I use it all the time.
08-10-2016
9:24 am
I use EQ 7 all the time I love to design using my scanned in fabric before I ever cut something. I can see what my piece will look like before I see a stitch! Love the program!!
08-10-2016
9:24 am
B. I’m busy sewing for my shop, a local craft show and clothing. Add working with my horses, equals too little time for quilting. I’m hoping the beginning of the year allows for more quilting time.
08-10-2016
9:24 am
I have it but don’t use it much – It’s on an OLD computer and I would have to have the previous versions information to transfer to the new one and it’s a hassle to try to find it.
08-10-2016
9:25 am
Yep – this is me! I’ve been ready to take that next step and do my own designs. And since I’ve retired from my Day Job, I finally have time!!!
C. I don’t have EQ7, but I REALLY want it!
08-10-2016
9:25 am
My answer is “C”. I have the Quilt Design Wizard but it is very limited. Thank you for a great giveaway.
08-10-2016
9:26 am
A is my answer… I have had EQ for years now and I could not live without it.
08-10-2016
9:26 am
Unfortunately, B. I haven’t had the time to learn to use it properly.
08-10-2016
9:27 am
B. I have taken a class and trying to get into a club so I use this more.
08-10-2016
9:27 am
I have had EQ7 for a number of years but don’t use it much. I am waiting for my order of books to help me understand how to use it more.
08-10-2016
9:27 am
“A” – wouldn’t want to quilt without it ! Great for creating paper foundation blocks, printing and sharing block lotto’s for my quilt group, ‘seeing’ secondary designs that emerge in a quilt design, estimating yardage … SEW many uses!
08-10-2016
9:28 am
I have eq7, I love it. I would like to find the time to learn more of it.
08-10-2016
9:28 am
My answer is B. My laptop crashed so I have not been able to use it in quite sometime.
08-10-2016
9:28 am
A love EQ have used it since DOS days!!!
08-10-2016
9:28 am
Unfortunately my answer is B. EQ looks like a great program. I’ve seen many wonderful designs created in EQ but I haven’t taken the time to learn how to use it. Maybe someday …
08-10-2016
9:29 am
Well, to be honest, B. I love EQ7 but haven’t been using it much lately. Haven’t been sewing much either. The culprit? hand-dyed yarn.
08-10-2016
9:29 am
I’m an A — I use my EQ7 every day.
08-10-2016
9:30 am
C – definitely don’t have it, desperately want it!
08-10-2016
9:30 am
B- have EQ 7 & don’t use it much. That’s a shame.
08-10-2016
9:30 am
I’m sorry to say my answer is “B.” I love EQ7 but have not had the time to use it much lately. I did take it with me when I joined my husband on a business trip, and while he was in meetings I did several tutorials. Maybe the next few months will open up more opportunities to do some designing.
08-10-2016
9:30 am
I am somewhere between A and B. I have used it more this year when challenged to design a few quilts for others. I am still learning the program and would love to be really efficient many aspects. Still struggling with custom set. Love the program though. About time I learned more since I have had the program a long time. Mental block I guess.
08-10-2016
9:30 am
My answer is C!
08-10-2016
9:31 am
between A and B. I have EQ7 (and 5 and 6) and use it quite a bid bot not quite a lot. But I wouldn’t want to be without it.
08-10-2016
9:31 am
I am definitely “C”. Have wanted your software since EQ 3 ( I think ) but could never afford it. I piece a lot of tops, probably 4 a month, and quilt them on my domestic. So far, I put them together in my head and they usually work out. Sometimes however, the mistakes are costly in wasted fabric. EQ would be a tremendous asset!!
08-10-2016
9:31 am
I have several editions of EQ but have never used them. Keep thinking one of these days…………
08-10-2016
9:31 am
answer is B, mostly because I’m not familiar enough with it to use it.
08-10-2016
9:32 am
B. I was given EQ7 as a gift and took a workshop to learn the basics but do not use it as much as I could.
08-10-2016
9:32 am
I have EQ7 but am just learning to use it and have a long way to go before I’m comfortable with it. I still prefer my graphics program to design.
08-10-2016
9:32 am
Definitely A – love it. couldn’t live without it. When my daughter got married and I made her a wedding quilt, I was able to work off of a design I had started over 10 years ago and just never found the right time, combination, recipient…. you know how that goes. when I picked up this design for her color choice, the results were amazing. Doing the math and geometry to make templates is the least enjoyable part of the process for me and Equilter does that to perfection. then, all i need to do is start quilting. Love IT!
08-10-2016
9:32 am
B. I need to really figure out how to properly use it! I know it is such a valuable tool!
08-10-2016
9:32 am
“A” is my answer. I love EQ, it helps me visualize a completed project even before I start sewing!
08-10-2016
9:32 am
Unfortunately, I have to say B. It’s not that I don’t love EQ7, it’s the time thing. When I’m in a rush, it’s just easier to quickly cut and stitch some log cabin blocks or other old favorites like trip around the world and easy star blocks. I hope to someday actually have time to sit and work through the books and explore the possibilities.
08-10-2016
9:33 am
“C” is me!!
08-10-2016
9:33 am
E is my answer. I love my EQ7, I use it from time to time for different things. I will design a quilt or combine serval quilts patterns into a new one. I also love to put a pattern that I going to make in and scan the fabrics I’m thinking of using to see what the quilt will look like before I sews hours sewing it together.
08-10-2016
9:33 am
Honestly it is B. I keep looking at online classes and I am wanting to start in the Fall to learn all about it.
08-10-2016
9:33 am
C would by my answer. I have EQ5 and EQ6 and I’d love to be able to upgrade to EQ7! I would take my quilting experience to a whole new level!
08-10-2016
9:33 am
C. I don’t have EQ7, but I REALLY want it! I have Quilt Design Wizard, but you have quit providing new downloads for it, and I need EQ7 to be able to do what I really want to do.
08-10-2016
9:34 am
C. I would like to have. Thank you.
08-10-2016
9:34 am
A!A!A! I use EQ7 for 95% of my projects these days. I teach and I write quilt patterns and books so I can’t imagine doing that without EQ7. Thanks for creating such a wonderful program and keeping it so up to date.
08-10-2016
9:34 am
C. I have it and even went to the 3 day training in Toledo. I want to use it, but just seem to get frustrated. I plan to use it more, in the future!
08-10-2016
9:35 am
Sorry that was B! I have it but don’t use it much.
08-10-2016
9:34 am
answer C
08-10-2016
9:34 am
A – I’ve been using it since the very first version!!
08-10-2016
9:34 am
I have EQ 7 but havnt used it much. I need to take a class. I’m more Hans on.
08-10-2016
9:34 am
A. I couldn’t live without my EQ 7. I design my quilt and figure out my yardage for minimum waste of fabric.
08-10-2016
9:35 am
C I don’t have EQ but would enjoy it
I currently sketch my quilts on graph paper.
08-10-2016
9:35 am
I have to admit to B. EQ7 is great but I have not spent enough time to utilize all it’s features. I have made several quilts using the features I have mastered and look forward to learning more skills.
08-10-2016
9:35 am
A. I wouldn’t start a quilt without it. It makes seeing the big picture of what the finished quilt will look like easy.
08-10-2016
9:35 am
B. I have EQ7, but I don’t use it nearly as much as I’d like to. I have so much that I want to learn, so many free online tutorials to watch, I just need more time in the day!!
08-10-2016
9:35 am
Definitely C.
08-10-2016
9:36 am
my answer is B. have not made time to learn the system as i would like. busy working 40+ a week. few more years and can spend more time
08-10-2016
9:36 am
I’m afraid the answer is B for me. All I can say is, thank God for our EQWEDO group which meets once a month to “play”. I’ve learned so much and still have a long way to go.
08-10-2016
9:36 am
B. I need to take time to learn how to use it more often.
08-10-2016
9:36 am
I do have EQ 7 but just haven’t taken the time to learn it very well.
08-10-2016
9:37 am
E. I have EQ7 but need to either upgrade my PC or get a laptop in order to use it. I really want to be able to start using it but the budget isn’t allowing that to happen at this moment.
08-10-2016
9:37 am
B. I have it but haven’t really had time to figure out how to use it well.
08-10-2016
9:37 am
Option B – when I do need it though, it is invaluable. When I see a quilt but don’t have the pattern it’s a fun challenge to see if I can design it in EQ myself.
08-10-2016
9:37 am
Most certainly A, am still learning though! lol
08-10-2016
9:37 am
Unfortunately the answer is B – have been too busy with our move and most of my hobby items are still in boxes – but as soon as my work room is finished will be using it a lot……
08-10-2016
9:37 am
I am a B. I don’t use it enough to remember the program and spend hours relearning.
08-10-2016
9:37 am
I do have EQ7 but haven’t taken the time to learn it very well.
08-10-2016
9:38 am
Hate to say it, but; it’s B. I do love it though when I use it.
08-10-2016
9:38 am
For me the answer is B, although I did just recently design some blocks in EQ7 for a quilt that won a prize, which was awesome, so thanks EQ7!
08-10-2016
9:38 am
Definitely “a”! I’ve had it since the days it was 5! Love, love, love it and all it can do and wouldn’t want to be without it – a fantastic program. It’s been invaluable for seeing what a quilt will look like before committing to it, plus like the drawing capabilities. I’ve also added EQ Stitch and it’s been fun digitizing for my embroidery machine.
08-10-2016
9:38 am
Sorry to say B is my answer. I would like to learn to use this software.
08-10-2016
9:38 am
E. I own EQ7 and have just joined a local group to learn how to use it. I am really looking forward to my first meeting this Saturday
08-10-2016
9:39 am
B for the moment. Working on moving up to the A category. So much to learn and only so much time in a day.
08-10-2016
9:39 am
B. I have it but need to learn how to use it.
08-10-2016
9:40 am
Absolutely answer A !!
I can explore different color schemes in minutes, when it took paper and pencils hours!!
I still have a lot to learn. I love your drawing, piecing etc. books to learn at my own pace.
08-10-2016
9:41 am
Definitely A! I’ve had EQ since EQ4, and all my quilts are designed using EQ. Even if I do some improvisation and the quilt look exactly like my EQ version, it was drawn in EQ first. It’s my very favourite software on my computer!
08-10-2016
9:41 am
“A”. I think I play with something on it every week!
08-10-2016
9:41 am
E: Other – I have EQ7 but haven’t learned much on how to use it. I would love to know more. It seems fabulous!l and this fabric would give me something to tinker with! Thanks. Good luck everyone.
08-10-2016
9:42 am
Absolutely A. I have had EQ since the beginning and could not quilt without it!
08-10-2016
9:42 am
I have EQ7, but haven’t used it as much as I’d like to. On the other hand, my husband has fallen in love with it and designs all our t-shirt quilt commissions on it!!
08-10-2016
9:42 am
B–have it and need to get back to using it. Have some health issues that have kept be occupied for awhile.
08-10-2016
9:42 am
A for me. EQ7 is fun.
08-10-2016
9:42 am
B.
I have EQ7 but just start to use it, I need more time to study how to work with it
08-10-2016
9:43 am
It’s a ‘C’ from me. I have so many designs in my head that seem impossible to get onto paper. So would love to have this tool.
08-10-2016
9:43 am
Absolutely A. I love EQ. I started out with 3 and it has gotten better and better through the upgrades. Fabulous program.
08-10-2016
9:43 am
B at the moment because I am completing UFOs and not designing a project at the moment.
08-10-2016
9:44 am
Mine is for question “C”. I have been using the quilt wizard for a couple of years but I think I would like to have more capabilities and expand my creativity with the EQ7.
08-10-2016
9:44 am
A !!!
08-10-2016
9:44 am
C. I dont have EQ7. Cuz I couldnt afford it. I loves to work on quilt and my mind still wants me to make mickey mouse quilts.
08-10-2016
9:45 am
It’s “B” for me! I would love to take a hands-on class; however, the classes require expensive travel and lodging expense. How about having more classes and position them regionally. I am in CA, and I know that you would attract an audience! Just hoping . . .
08-10-2016
9:45 am
A&E – I have EQ7/EQ Stitch and I can’t live without it!! Last week the EQexe. file was gone and I thought the world had ended, but with the wonderful help from EQ techs I have it back and now my world is alright again! I’ve loved EQ since it first came out as a DOS and have upgraded with them ever since. To think I use to use paper and pencil to design a quilt way back when. EQ is so wonderful for designing a quilt before the fabric gets cut. To see the lay out and color choices in EQ makes a BIG difference! Wonderful program for us quilters and there is always help when you need it. Keep up the great work EQ!!
P.S. I know I’ve used the word “wonderful” a lot but it truly is a wonderful program!
08-10-2016
9:46 am
My answer has to be A. I love EQ7 and use it all of the time. We started a group of quilters at my church and I have been using EQ to help us while we are making quilts for the needy members. We are even starting some new people quilting. Love it.
08-10-2016
9:46 am
B. I have EQ7 but don’t use it much. We have moved so much and I have changed computers several times. I am retired now and I am looking forward to reinstalling it and using it much more often.
08-10-2016
9:46 am
A! I have it and love it!!! It’s in regular use in my house!!!!
08-10-2016
9:46 am
C. I have not tried EQ, but would love to. Thank you!
08-10-2016
9:47 am
C, absolutely C!
08-10-2016
9:47 am
B. I have it, and I go through spurts when I use it, and then I have to finish all the quilts I made during that spurt. If only EQ could do all the sewing and quilting too!
08-10-2016
9:47 am
Definitely A, I use my EQ7 all the time and I’ll be teaching a class for my guild on Friday.
08-10-2016
9:47 am
A!!!!! Makes designing so much fun and easy!
08-10-2016
9:47 am
I have the Design Wizard, but I can’t design the style of quilt I have in mind. The EQ7 would solve this problem.
08-10-2016
9:49 am
I have eq7 but have not had time to really use it.
08-10-2016
9:49 am
I don’t have EQ7, but have heard a lot about it from a friend that just loves it. I am fairly new at quilting and took on a T-Shirt quilt for my sister who lost her husband who was a marathon runner for cancer. Wished I would have had EQ7 to design it.
08-10-2016
9:49 am
It’s B for me. I have it but really don’t know how to use it. Hopefully this winter I can do some online classes and learn how to put it to good use! Thanks
08-10-2016
9:49 am
B. I don’t use it much but when I manage to do something on it I love it so much. It helps me do a few basic things. I would so love to take a class, well really several classes and become really proficient.
08-10-2016
9:49 am
B I think the software is great but haven’t used it much. I’ve had one class but since taking the class have had too much happening in my life that has taken me away from my quilting.
08-10-2016
9:50 am
Absolutely a C for me. I’ve been dying to get my hands on EQ7!!
08-10-2016
9:50 am
It’s A, I love my EQ7 and have designed many quilts with it including the winner of the NYC MQG DWR contest, Organic Pink Pickles.
08-10-2016
9:51 am
My answer is B. I have it, but haven’t had time to really learn it. Time is my problem. Keep going back to my older version that has all my previous designs in it.
08-10-2016
9:51 am
Gotta go with c. I would LOVE to have eq7! I have heard so many good things about it and watched a ton of videos about it. I am also interested in getting Eq stitch to do more with embroidery.
08-10-2016
9:51 am
It’s B for me. Doing lots of appliqué right now. In the past I have relied on EQ7 heavily. Hope to get back to designing soon.
08-10-2016
9:51 am
It’s definitely A for me! I use it ALL the time & LOVE it. Whether I’m using it to figure out how much fabric I’ll need, or designing a new block or quilt, it’s fabulous.
08-10-2016
9:51 am
I’m a B not that I don’t love EQ but I just don’t piece much any more and I don’t have the time to play with it for more artistic designs. It’s a great software though and I make all my labels with it.
08-10-2016
9:51 am
Love my EQ7. Wish I had more Time to play and create with her.
08-10-2016
9:51 am
I first bought EQ when it didn’t have a number and have had every incarnation since. I just bought EQ Stitch to add to it. It is my go-to buddy. I enjoy everything about it.
08-10-2016
9:52 am
I fit into “other”. I am taking an online class to prepare for EQ Academy on September. I am learning a lot and guess that after a while I won’t be able to live without it!
08-10-2016
9:52 am
I have EQ7 and EQ Stitch, I don’t get to use it alot though. I have used it a few times to design a quilt but would like to find more time to learn how to use both these programs as I know there are lots of hidden features which I need to learn more about.
08-10-2016
9:52 am
B. I need to learn it; but, cannot take a regular class as I’m deaf.
08-10-2016
9:53 am
My answer is A. I have EQ7 and I couldn’t live without it! I wish I was better with it, there is so much to learn!!
08-10-2016
9:53 am
B – I keep learning a little but never enough to do all the things I want. Lack of time is my biggest deterrent – “the best laid plans of mice and men!!”
08-10-2016
9:53 am
A for so much fun and easy designing!
08-10-2016

My answers would have to be both A & B. I have EQ7 and while I don’t use it very often, when I need it, I couldn’t live without it!! My quilting customers are amazed and what
we can do together with EQ7 and I’m looking forward to EQ Stitch. Just purchased it and UPS will drop on my door step this afternoon!!

C. I don’t have EQ7, but I REALLY want it!
08-10-2016
9:53 am
B – I have it, I don’t use it much. But now that I’m retired, I need to start learning and using it more. Now I have the time and just need to get busy with it!!
08-10-2016
9:54 am
It would be C for me! I really really want one!!!
08-10-2016
9:55 am
A, I use EQ7 all the time and love it. I design all my quilts and find it an exceptional toll in the design process.
08-10-2016
9:55 am
I use EQ7 and love it. I like the photo option and use the layout features quite a bit. I have been ill recently, including hand tremors, so I’ve not used it much recently, although I have the quilting itch and will try again very soon.
08-10-2016
9:55 am
Definitely c!
08-10-2016
9:55 am
I have EQ and use it a lot. I really enjoy designing on it. I have been an EQ user since EQ 1!
08-10-2016
9:56 am
It’s B. I use it when designing a new quilt or working out problems on a quilt in progress. I was much more comfortable using the earlier versions of EQ but 7 seems much more complicated and I’ve never taken the time to learn Stitch.
08-10-2016
9:56 am
I have EQ7 and use it for nearly every quilt thst I create. It’s thecsoftware used the most kn my laptop.
08-10-2016
9:56 am
I am A, I love it for previewing how a quilt will look with my fabric choices. I am not a big designer, but I love entering the patterns I’ve purchased and then coloring them with the fabrics I want to use.
08-10-2016
9:56 am
B…. Always mean to work on fully understanding how it works
08-10-2016
9:57 am
A. I have EQ7 and I couldn’t live without it! I start with an idea, design some blocks, mix with yours, redesign several times, play with settings, and after a few hours of this I have quite a few interesting quilts. Way too many to ever make them all, and I’ve just barely scratched the surface. Just so much fun!
08-10-2016
9:57 am
I guess I am an E. I design on my design wall but go to EQ7 to check ideas when I run into a problem. Often it will be awhile between using it and if I need to refresh my skills, thats not hard to do because of all the helpful videos and books. I have been using it since EQ3 and would not like to be without it. Also really helpful when I need a fast quilt for a gift.
08-10-2016
9:57 am
Sadly, it is B for me, too, but you didn’t ask if we want to change that? I do, I would love to use it more. It is a commitment. I have had to relearn it so many times. Like others, computers need replacing and it seems like everyday life gets in the way of fun. Hoping to use it more in the fall.
08-10-2016
9:57 am
I have EQ7 and EQ Stitch. I’ve only gotten them recently and I’ve started to use them, but need more time in the software to learn it enough to use it to the full potential. I love the blogs and the tips and they have helped a lot. My biggest problem is time. The pesky day job takes up too much of it and I have a couple of projects I have to finish to free myself up for learning time. I love what I’ve seen in the software so far!
08-10-2016
9:58 am
It’s A for me. I use it in the design of most of my quilts and blocks. I’ve been to great workshops to learn the program. I love it!
08-10-2016
9:58 am
A. I have had EQ from the beginning and I love it . I teach private students and we always design their quilts on EQ. I recently purchased Stitch and having a lot of fun learning
08-10-2016
9:58 am
B- is my answer. I would love to take some on-line classes, but I haven’t found any.
08-10-2016
9:59 am
I’m in the “B” category; don’t use EQ7 all the time, but enjoy it when I do use it. Typically, I’ve seen a quilt design and want to know if it’d work as a Quilt of Valor. Enjoy re-drawing it in EQ evaluate in patriotic colors. Expect to become more proficient in EQ “someday”.
08-10-2016
9:59 am
I have it and LOVE IT!. I use it a lot. It’s one of the best programs ever. I love that I can import my own fabric into it. That’s the best part.
08-10-2016
10:00 am
I have EQ7 and don’t use it much, but mostly because of time constraints! I have designed some tabletoppers and baby quilts.
08-10-2016
10:00 am
My answer is A.
08-10-2016
10:00 am
Absolutely! I have EQ7 and couldn’t live without it. It is my greatest quilting tool. It has helped my quilting skills grow and I depend on it. Thank you, EQ & CO.
08-10-2016
10:00 am
Mine would be A. It’s a really fun thing to have and make and design new quilts.
08-10-2016
10:00 am
B- I’m still learning it.
08-10-2016
10:01 am
I vote A. I use it a lot but only the little I know well. Not close to being an “expert” with it. This program is capable of so much more than what I use of it. The price on it is reasonable not outlandish, which makes it affordable to most. One of the best things I like about it is the fact you can add new fabric lines to the program. This allows me to try out the fabric in a design before I buy the fabric.
08-10-2016
10:01 am
B hoping to have more time to use eq
08-10-2016
10:02 am
“E Other” for me. I have EQ7 and have used it once. It worked very well for altering a quilt pattern to fit bunk beds, and for changing the design slightly for the second one
. Look forward to using it again for my next quilt.
08-10-2016
10:02 am
C. I don’t have EQ7, but I would love to experience it!! Thanks!
08-10-2016
10:02 am
E – got the program this year and am learning a lot and will be using it in the next 2 quilts for my daughter’s wedding quilts.
08-10-2016
10:03 am
I don’t have EQ7 and I would love to have it so I could design quilts on my computer and use fabrics in the designs instead of pencils on paper!
08-10-2016
10:03 am
It is a C for me. Would dearly love to have the EQ7 or 8. Thanks.
08-10-2016
10:03 am
It’s definitely “A”. I use it regularly. I even input patterns that I use, because I always want to tweak it here and there and EQ7 lets me do that easily and also lets me know fabric qty changes, or if it will work at all. Love, love, love it!
08-10-2016
10:03 am
A. I have EQ7 and I couldn’t live without it! I use it daily almost. I show my friends how to use it. I even create logos with it….
08-10-2016
10:03 am
“C” – As a fairly new quilter, I am just now finding my “voice” and would love to use EQ7 to design new patterns! AGF are fantastic to work with too. Love the feel!.Thank you!
08-10-2016
10:03 am
I am C – I don’t own it but REALLY, REALLY want it. I LOVE to quilt and would love to be able to do my own designs, versus relying on patterns and fabrics put together by someone else. Been sewing for 58 yrs. and no plans to stop until I stop breathing………
08-10-2016
10:04 am
C would be the best answer for me!! I do not have EQ7 and I’m pretty unfamiliar with this program! It is the perfect blend of two of hobbies- quilting and computers! Thank you for the opportunity!
08-10-2016
10:04 am
A, definitely, I’ve used it since EQ4 and love to design my own quilts–or take commercial patterns and audition fabrics.
08-10-2016
10:04 am
I’m definitely a B. I just need to sit down(that’s hard) and use it more. Hope to havemore time this fall.
08-10-2016
10:04 am
C – please, please give me one. I really, really need it
08-10-2016
10:05 am
B I need to find time to play on the compuror and lesson on eq7
08-10-2016
10:05 am
E. I have it and would love to be able to use it more. Lack of time to learn has left me frustrated.
08-10-2016
10:05 am
B for me. I’m a hand quilter, so it takes some time to finish a quilt.
08-10-2016
10:05 am
E. I love EQ but life seems to get in the way from me using it as much as I like. I hope to settle in and learn all the wonderful things it can do!!
08-10-2016
10:05 am
Definitely A. I have owned EQ from its inception. It is a fabulous and powerful tool. I love it!
08-10-2016
10:05 am
C for me. I’m a fairly new quilter, just 2 years, and so far have used other people’s patterns but would like to branch out.
08-10-2016
10:06 am
C. I will probably learn how to use it before I get it. I follow your blog and the designers. Thank you so much.
08-10-2016
10:06 am
B I need to find some lesson on using EQ 7
08-10-2016
10:06 am
I started with EQ3 and have upgraded each time. I love the software! I teach quilting classes and can easily offer my students quilts in sizes to match their needs. I just edit and revised the class quilt layout that was done in EQ and can easily give personal attention to each student’s project.
So my answer is “A”.
08-10-2016
10:06 am
Would be c, don’t have it but would love to have it.
08-10-2016
10:07 am
My answer is A. I could not live without EQ7! The best quilting software there is!
08-10-2016
10:07 am
I have EQ and love. I’ve had it since EQ5 and still have lots to learn. I do wish we could take selective lessons on line instead of signing up for whole classes since I know lots about some things and not so much about others.
Also Penny and the other tech people are great. All software support should be this good.
08-10-2016
10:08 am
I have EQ7, Blockbase, and Star Power and love all 3! So I guess my answer is A & E !
08-10-2016
10:08 am
C – I have EQ6 and have been thinking of upgrading it. I have found it very useful in coming up with a plan for a block or a whole quilt.
08-10-2016
10:08 am
I am an A, I challenge myself to make my own designs and not use someone else’s patterns. I take great pride in saying ” I designed this quilt…..”
08-10-2016
10:08 am
It is c for me.
08-10-2016
10:09 am
A. I have EQ7 and I couldn’t live without it! I use EQ7 for all my quilt designs, especially for writing tutorials and patterns.
08-10-2016
10:09 am
1 for me. I have had the software since version 1 and love it.
08-10-2016
10:10 am
A I have had your software since version 1 and love it.
08-10-2016
10:09 am
I have EQ7 and I can’t live without it.
08-10-2016
10:09 am
I have had EQ7 for a couple of months! Love my options, but having a hard time working through it with my projects. I can do the basic tutorials, but then get lost in the anticipation of the big projects in my head. I need to slow down and do some projects just to get the program down! Finishing a project now then I’m going to buckle down on my training!#EQ7#25
08-10-2016
10:09 am
C. I don’t have EQ7, but I REALLY want it!
08-10-2016
10:09 am
C. Have EQ5, the upgrades sound wonderful.
08-10-2016
10:11 am
A. I use it all the time and wouldn’t know what to do without it!
08-10-2016
10:12 am
A – but I still have a lot to learn! I love the program, just need more time in my life to play with it.
08-10-2016
10:12 am
I’m a B. Sadly I don’t use EQ7 as much as I’d like to
08-10-2016
10:12 am
I’m a B. I really need to devote some serious time to learning the software, beyond the basics. Computer programs are not intuitive for me and I like to make less repetitive/same size block quilts.
08-10-2016
10:12 am
I have to say “A” as of last weekend– but used to be “B.” I went to the first EQ Academy class in Ohio for EQ7 and had hoped to return the next year for EQ Stitch, but life got in the way. Then last week, I took a refresher class at my local quilt shop and my brain went “ding” and everything finally clicked for me– the program is really so much fun to use! I absolutely love this software and have created 4 quilts in just the last couple days that I’m dying to create– now to learn EQ Stitch. I’m excited! Thank you for a wonderful program. Hope to see you at another class.
08-10-2016
10:12 am
Answer B as I have it and really want to use it, but have not spent enough time with it. I need to set aside the time! I absolutely love it when I have gone through the lessons.
08-10-2016
10:12 am
Answer B but I really wish it was A. The truth is I haven’t learned how to use the program. Whenever, I try to do something I can’t and give up looking for the answer. The times I do try are so infrequent that I’ve forgotten what I learned the time before.
Video or live classes would be the best for me.
08-10-2016
10:13 am
“C”… This is my dream machine!! Oh how I’d love to have one of these grace my life!!
08-10-2016
10:13 am
B
08-10-2016
10:13 am
B is for me. I have used EQ but have a lot to learn.
08-10-2016
10:13 am
I have had EQ years ago but no longer have it on my new computer.
08-10-2016
10:13 am
I
08-10-2016
10:13 am
A for me. EQ 7 is great for playing with color variations as will as quilt design/modification.
08-10-2016
10:13 am
I love EQ7!
08-10-2016
10:13 am
I’ve had EQ since v5 and it’s a lot of fun. I’ve designed blocks and quilts with it but I have never actually used it to make a quilt using their measurements for fabric and cutting. I always have done all that myself and just used the software to get a nice visual and keep my head straight. That should be my next goal.
I really appreciate the online learning and books, without them I would still be fumbling around. It would be great fun to go to Perrysburg for the big class, but I just can’t make it. Thanks for all your wonderful efforts to make this simpler to use and to educate us.
08-10-2016
10:14 am
A. I’ve been a user since EQ5 and this is the BEST quilting software.
08-10-2016
10:15 am
I’m a “D” answer – but would love to win the fabric
08-10-2016
10:15 am
B is what best describes me (I have EQ7 but don’t use it much) – with the added phrase of “…but I’d like to learn it better to be able to use it to it’s full potential.” This being said, I am a visual learner so definitely need YouTube to help me with this! I have used YouTube in the past when I get stuck on something with it and it has totally helped me
08-10-2016
10:15 am
It’s definitely B.for me, i need more hands on instruction.
08-10-2016
10:16 am
B, but have been using it more and more. I took a class at Houston International Quilt Festival that was great!
08-10-2016
10:16 am
Definitely A! There isn’t enough time to make all the quilts that interest me, but when you “make” them on EQ and add your own variations, it feels as if you’ve given them a try.
08-10-2016
10:16 am
C. I love designing quilts, & software that helps with that might be fun
08-10-2016
10:16 am
My answer is B. I’m disappointed in myself as i had a great teacher when I lived down south, but alas….I moved and haven’t kept up with it. it’s a bit daunting without help.
08-10-2016
10:16 am
Combo of A & B. I do not use it as much as I should but when I have to try and draw out a design with size changes it is a must.
08-10-2016
10:18 am
B. I upgraded to EQ7 but I don’t use it as much as I should. I find it takes me so long to design and I’d rather be working with the fabrics so I tend to design as I go along.
08-10-2016
10:20 am
A – love EQ7
08-10-2016
10:20 am
I am like a B+ to A-. I have EQ7 but I don’t use it much until I need it and then I couldn’t live without it. I use it for designing borders for my redwork.
08-10-2016
10:20 am
My answer is B with a little A. I have been using EQ7 to design a few simple quilts but still have trouble connecting all the dots. I am enrolled in the September online class and can’t wait to learn more.
08-10-2016
10:21 am
C. (I’m planning on the Dear Jane software as I plan to make one after I finish my current quilt). EQ would be great as I’d love to be able to easily design quilts. Right now I modify patterns if necessary or just “wing it”.
08-10-2016
10:21 am
Answer is “B”…but I am dreaming of the day it will be “A”. I seem to find just a few minutes each day to sit down at my sewing machine, and only go to EQ when I need to fall back on a project I have saved.
08-10-2016
10:21 am
B. Have designed a few quilts but my time is limited because of job responsibilities….but one day!!
08-10-2016
10:22 am
A. I’ve been a user since it’s beginning. Those DOS days! Thanks for the chance to win!
08-10-2016
10:23 am
C. I have used the software but would like to have it myself. I enjoy it very much. My latest adventure was using the software to plan a mandala.
08-10-2016
10:24 am
I have used EQ7 and have been very pleased with the results. Unfortunately I don’t use it as much as I feel that I should. That goal is on my to-do list!
08-10-2016
10:24 am
I have EQ7 but have not loaded it on my computer as yet. I want to get a laptop just for quilting software but am not sure what to buy.
08-10-2016
10:25 am
B as I haven’t taken the time to work with it which is a shame especially when I see what others have done.
08-10-2016
10:26 am
I guess I would have to go with B. But I do use it, although not as much as I would like to. I have used EQ7 several times to design wall hangings that I actually made and it really helped being able to see how it would look with my fabric before I cut any fabric and stitched it. I play around with different designs just to inspire me for a new project.
I do love my EQ7!
08-10-2016
10:26 am
Answer is B with A at times. I just have too many things on the go.
08-10-2016
10:26 am
My answer if B – however I am taking classes and is opening a whole new wonderful world. As I become more confident using EQ7 I love it more!!
08-10-2016
10:28 am
“B”, which is really a shame. Maybe now that I’m retired, it will get more use!
08-10-2016
10:28 am
My answer is B. I am planning to begin again and start to use it this fall.
08-10-2016
10:28 am
B. I’ve never really learned it and forget what I learned by the time I try to use it again. I rather be quilting than working on the computer.
08-10-2016
10:28 am
‘B’ is my response. I purchased it so I would have it when I retire. I recently retired, but have not had the time yet. Looking forward to learning how to use it!
08-10-2016
10:29 am
A, all the way! I love playing around with quilt designs, trying out as many possibilities as I can before I start making a quilt.
08-10-2016
10:30 am
B. I have used it some, but have a lot to learn. My intention is to use it more in the future.
08-10-2016
10:30 am
My answer is c. I up for learning something new to help with quilting.
08-10-2016
10:30 am
A. Have it, use it, love it. I still have a lot to learn, but it is so rewarding to say I designed this.
08-10-2016
10:30 am
Answer A! I discovered EQ7 earlier this year and have already used it to design and print templates for a custom quilt, try out color and layout options for a complex Storm at Sea quilt I want to do (coloring graph paper was driving me crazy!), and explore sashing possibilities for a quilt-along sampler I’m doing. For the sampler, I recreate each block in EQ7 as it comes out and color it with the actual fabrics I’m using from my stash — perfect for testing layout and sashing, and also gives me a permanent record of the quilt. I love, love, love EQ7!
08-10-2016
10:31 am
I don’t have EQ7 but I really really want it !!
08-10-2016
10:31 am
B
08-10-2016
10:32 am
Most definitely B – I couldn’t live without it.
08-10-2016
10:33 am
Duh – I don’t know my A’s from my B’s — I should have put A – I use it a lot and love it
08-10-2016
10:33 am
A – for me, absolutely love it, having not had EQ7 for long, for me as a designer just couldn’t live without it now
08-10-2016
10:33 am
A – I’ve had EQ7 for a year and I love it. I’m learning something new all the time. It’s amazing how much you can do with this software. I love how you can scan fabrics in and see how something will look before cutting anything.
08-10-2016
10:33 am
I love EQ7 , I added another computer so I need another copy!!!! use it daily!
08-10-2016
10:33 am
E.I have it, but have never used it. I need a new computer! LOL!
08-10-2016
10:34 am
Answer “B” but I am learning! I’m doing lessons following my book. I just wish I was near a place that offered “hands on” lessons but following my book and trying to do things on my own is the best I can do!
08-10-2016
10:36 am
Totally A! I use Electric Quilt to design quilts, mini quilts and even quilty things. I also have EQ Stitch and EQ Mini, there is a version of EQ for everyone no matter your experience.
08-10-2016
10:36 am
C. I love designing quilts (most don’t get made) and I believe I could have tons of fun designing with EQ7!
08-10-2016
10:38 am
A. I have EQ7 and I couldn’t live without it! I just don’t have the fabric to keep up with the designs I love creating.
08-10-2016
10:39 am
Answer A – I love EQ and I use it to make paper piecing patterns to make mini blocks. They’re so much more accurate than regular piecing!
08-10-2016
10:39 am
C. I have EQ5 but would really love to have EQ7.
08-10-2016
10:39 am
My answer is E. I’d really love to learn EQ but I know the process is time consuming. I’m pretty good with computers, so don’t fear that part. However, with my current caregiving responsibilities, I know it’s a project I cannot currently take on. Thanks for these fabulous giveaways and learning opportunities.
08-10-2016
10:39 am
That would be B. I am taking a couple of your online classes, and working on learning all I can to begin designing a quilt. But at 71, learning comes slow. I was able to attend Road to Calif. 2 years back, and took advantage of offered classes, but still looking for more instruction.
08-10-2016
10:39 am
I have EQ 7, but I need to learn how to use it better.
08-10-2016
10:39 am
Between A and B – I have EQ and use it fairly regularly, but if I could live without it. It’s fun, but not a necessity.
08-10-2016
10:40 am
Love my EQ, Answer A
08-10-2016
10:40 am
“C” unfortunately. I would really love to have EQ7 to be able to design my own quilts and preview fabrics/colors in my design. That would be so awesome.
08-10-2016
10:40 am
E Other — I have EQ7 and have not used it yet. I refuse to admit how long I’ve had it! One of these days I need to sit down and learn to use it. When I’m not so busy in the sewing room.
08-10-2016
10:40 am
B.
08-10-2016
10:41 am
B. I have it. I play with it to learn but don’t know how to use it yet.
08-10-2016
10:41 am
B I play with it from time to time but have too many quilts to finish first to get really serious with it.
08-10-2016

My answer is definitely A. I love my EQ7. Instead of doodling quilt ideas, or clipping photos of interesting blocks, I simply open EQ7 and draw, saving the results in a file for Inspiration. I couldn’t do without it.
08-10-2016
10:46 am
C. I really, really want this! I’ve heard and read so much about it that I want one for myself to play with! Fingers crossed!
08-10-2016
10:47 am
Definitely A. I am not using EQ as much because I am not designing as many quilts these days, but I still couldn’t live without it!! I always audition fabric colors/choices for quilts I’m working on.
Thanks!
08-10-2016

10:48 am
I have EQ7, upgraded from EQ5. I fall in the B category … need to get the book out and learn to do the beyond the basics things. Really want to learn to import photos of my fabrics to use in design … and how to incorporate the border into the design … and how to plan the quilting design better. It is truly an amazing program.
08-10-2016
10:48 am
I use EQ7 frequently, but I am really a B because I really don’t know how to use it well. I want to learn and have recently added add ons, so I’m working my way there.

A. I haven’t had EQ as long as some–only since it was available for the Mac, but it has become an essential tool for me. I know that I still have lots to learn to really take advantage of all it has to offer, but even in my limited fashion, I use it ALL THE TIME.
08-10-2016
10:52 am
B I need to retire from my day job!! Used it and love it!
08-10-2016

08-10-2016
10:53 am
C, I would love to have this but can’t afford it. There are such beautiful patterns.
08-10-2016
10:53 am
B+ I think. I’ve been an EQ user since v5. EQ7 is an awesome tool. I use it to design quilts work out blocks that I’ve seen but have no pattern for and audition colour placement. The video tutorials in the program are an invaluable starting point and the tips and tricks in the EQ newsletter inspire me to try new things. The only thing I could wish for is more time to play with the program.
08-10-2016
10:53 am
I love EQ. After taking the EQ7 Sampler class I found how much more it could do than what I was using it for.
08-10-2016
10:54 am

B.I have EQ but don’t use it much. Except mine should be ‘don’t use at all.’ I’ve tried various ways to learn EQ (tutorials, videos). I think a manual would be very helpful for this. I will keep working on it and if you have suggestions for me I be grateful.
08-10-2016

11:01 am
I have EQ7 and love it.
08-10-2016
11:02 am
I have EQ7 and I couldn’t live without it! I do most of my own designing now for quilts that I make for people using EQ7. EQ7 allows me to have confidence in the colors I choose, how the blocks and borders will work together, and how much fabric I need to have on hand. It lets me be creative and takes the guesswork out of planning. I am taking a 3 day class in Denver in September that I am very excited about. I am hoping I will come away with even more amazing ways I will be able to use EQ7 for my projects!
08-10-2016
11:02 am
I LOVE EQ7. There’s so much to change when designing! I love changing colors, moving blocks, and creating blocks from scratch. Printing the final products as well as the fabric requirements means virtually no math for me! I love seeing my quilt in print before I make it.
08-10-2016
11:03 am
A- Love it….use it often..
08-10-2016
11:03 am
Definitely A!
I have been using EQ since version 3 for designing my own quilts and testing fabric placement, as well as for illustrating blocks of the month, and donation quilt kits for guild work.
Many thanks to the engineers who keep it current and working smoothly!
08-10-2016
11:03 am
I have EQ7 and I love it but I sometimes have difficulty figuring how to use it.
08-10-2016
11:03 am
A! I was given EQ7 as a gift the first Christmas after I started quilting, and I cannot imagine my quilting life without it. Quilt math stumps me, every time, but with EQ I just design the quilt and the math is done for me! Love it! I have used it to design quilts when I had a limited amount of fabric, and needed to determine how to make the size of the quilt fit the available fabric…I have used it to create precut friendly designs, or AccuQuilt friendly designs, or just to give me the math for a quilt that has to be made, no limits set. I’ve used it to tweak color placement, layouts, borders….to resize smaller patterns into larger, larger to smaller, etc. Basically, if I have sewn it, I probably used EQ to plan it first….and always will. Thanks for an excellent product!
08-10-2016
11:03 am
Definitely an A.Even making quilts from a pattern I will enter it into EQ so I can see what happens with multiples of the blocks or different settings / color placement, etc.
08-10-2016

B, I have the EQ7. Even though I have tried to set up quilt patterns, etc. It is different for Mac users concerning steps, etc. I would also like a printed workbook/manual.
08-10-2016
11:25 am
I have EQ and couldn’t live without it. When I see pictures of quilts that I like, I often look for similar blocks on EQ to create my own design. I can’t do applique so if a sampler quilt I am doing has applique blocks, I find a pieced or paper pieced design in EQ and substitute!
08-10-2016

I have EQ7 but I don’t use it much. Not that I don’t want to, but I bought it before the Mac version came out and I’ve been using Bootcamp to run it…but it’s a pain to switch over. So I either need to buy the Mac version or a different laptop.

I have EQ7 but don’t use it much because I’m still learning. Started with he tutorials, signed up for a webinar with the MQG and plan to take a class at a AQS Quilt Show. I will also look at the on line classes.

08-10-2016
11:34 am
I am somewhere between A and B. I have successfully used EQ7 to design blocks for a quilt that recently won an award, and have designed a beautiful quilt that got published, but I would learn more so that I can use it more often. It’s a great program!
08-10-2016

08-10-2016
11:35 am
C wish I had one to use and play with
08-10-2016
11:35 am
A. I have used EQ6, EQ7 and now EQStitch to increase my quilting capabilities and imagination. Whenever I start a new project, from a purchased pattern or from “scratch,” I create an EQ file. I gather all the design elements into one place, then use EQ to make the project personal!
08-10-2016
11:35 am
A – though I get frustrated at the lack of intuitiveness when you try to go beyond basic blocks and borders sets. Grrrr.
08-10-2016
11:35 am
I have EQ but don’t use it much.
08-10-2016
11:36 am
A. I have EQ7 and I couldn’t live without it!
And that is an understatement! lol I depend on my EQ7, it doesn’t matter if it’s just to check a color combination out, resize a pattern I’ve seen somewhere or just to play! I recently designed a T-shirt quilt and made it from my EQ7 pattern.
I began with EQ5, upgraded to 6 and decided buying EQ7 outright was my best purchase!
Hugs,
Betty

I have EQ7 And I love it. I have used EQ products for at least 20 yrs. I’ve even used it for arranging floor tiles and for figuring quantities of tiles. I also used it to figure the size schematic for painting a huge Ohio star and script on the side of a barn.
Luv it!

I have had EQ7 since it came out and have worked through some of the lessons. I also print out blocks to sketch out how I want to machine quilt them, but I have only designed a couple of quilts it it.

I have used EQ since version 5 and love it. I have used it for appliqué quilts and to design my grandsons and granddaughter graduation from high school quilts. I also used it to design my husband business logo.
I would recommend this production to every quilter.

B. I have EQ7, but have not been able to use it as often as I would like. Life has gotten in the way leaving me very little time to utilize EQ7. Know I will love it once I start using it. I plan to sign up for your online beginners class. I see what others have created and I am intrigued. Thank you

I have EQ7. I have taken a class and find the software very useful. Now that I’m retired, I plan to get more use out of it.

A: I have EQ7 and I couldn’t live without it. I have only had EQ7 for a short time but it has already made making quilt patterns so easy. It was very helpful in designing and piecing a log cabin quilt using Van Gogh’s Starry Night pattern. I was very happy that the program gave me all the cutting and piecing information for the pattern that I would have otherwise not had a clue on how to get the measurements. As a beginner quilter and designer I couldn’t live without EQ7 and the excellent features it offers.

I have EQ7. I don’t use it often BUT I cannot imagine NOT having it. In addition to the creating of quilt deigns I love to recreate a quilt pattern that I have found in a magazine/online/book in EQ7, scan/download my fabric choices and play with the colors in a quilt. Sometimes what I thought would look great looks better in another way. EQ7 is really a great “preview” for me.

I recently purchased EQ 7 when I retired. I thought I could put on my big girl pants and learn it on my own, but so far, that hasn’t happened. Hopefully in the very near future I will be able to make progress in mastering the software, as I can’t wait to utilize all of the features it offers!

Great program. Main reason that I have a laptop. It sure saved me when I designed my Blooming Nine Patch quilt. I scanned my fabrics that I wanted to use.

C. I would love to be able to play around with quilt designs along with fabric choices. Now the process involves sketches in a notebook and coloring on graph paper. Occasionally a quilty buddy will post an EQ7 sketch to help with questions I may have. Quilters are the best.

I’ve had EQ7 for years. My husband gifted it to me for Christmas about four or five years ago. I haven’t used it because it’s learning a whole new software program and I have a hard time sitting in front of the computer and teaching myself how to use it I’ve had all the lessons that come with it printed out for years and have done nothing with it. I keep it update. I guess bottom line is …I like hands I learning and I don’t live in an area that offers classes. I feel it’s a very useful program and would live to learn so I could teach others. It sure would save me a lot of guess work when buying supplies. Lol

B. I have eq7 but don’t use it much. I always have problems downloading your free fabric. I have such a difficult time putting my fabric in. I have to go to the store where I bought it to get another lesson. They are great about it. I get it done there and go home and can’t do it. It’s great for making my block designs.

I have EQ7, Blockbase, Sew Precise 1 & 2, Donna McDade Sew Precise, Shirley Libey Sew Precise, Judy Martin Stars & Sets, and Karen Stone Quilts and I can’t live without all of them! I use EQ7 to create a block party pattern for my quilt guild every 2 months and have created 19 mini patterns for a class I teach at my local quilt shop. I also create instructions for each block and use EQ7 to make little pictorials and diagrams in the documents. Can’t wait for EQ8!

I love EQ7 because it makes it so easy to design new quilts and change things like fabrics and dimensions. Keep up the good work!
08-10-2016
12:23 pm
A: I LOVE EQ7, and use it frequently. I have only owned it for about a year and so I’m still learning all the things it can do. I just wish there were more hours in the day! Unfortunately my family thinks they need to eat and have clean laundry. I could easily become a hermit, designing and sewing quilts day and night.
08-10-2016
12:24 pm
I have it but rarely use it. I’ve made a few designs and am looking forward to trying them. The problem, I think, is that I took “hands on” classes several times locally where either they tried to teach it all in a few hours or the teacher was more fascinated with the programming than the program. I’ll keep trying, though. I love the concept for those of us who are still pattern bound.
08-10-2016
12:24 pm
A. EQ is a fun addition to my quilting. Dreaming is easy but having a tool to help envision

I have EQ and love it. I am torn between spending more time on the computer to really learn the program or more time on the sewing machine to finish ‘UFOs.
08-10-2016
12:38 pm
I have EQ7 and use it for things like checking out how a new design works, making my own blocks and then using them in a design, working out color choices, figuring out fabric yardage, making foundation patterns, and whatever else pops up. It is a great tool, but I must confess, every once in a while I need to take to paper and pencil….

I have EQ7 (upgraded from EQ6). I don’t use it as much as I would like. Kind of a time thing. So many things to do so little time to do them in. But I do use it to get inspiration when I am starting a new project. I like that I can scan in my own fabrics and work with them in the software.
08-10-2016

I have had the EQ program for a long time. I took a hands on class to help me out. But when I got home I was back to zero understanding. My computer skills are limited. With more practice time I’m sure I would use it often to design my quilts

E. I’ve purchased EQ7 and haven’t found the time yet to actually learn to use it. I have seriously debated taking the EQ Academy course here in Denver in September, but my schedule lately is a moving target and $400 is a lot to commit to when last minute changes are a regular occurrence for me these days. Looking forward to learning this wonderful tool though!

I have EQ7 although I am still learning how to use it but just love it. You can do so many things with it and it is so accurate in the cutting pieces. You don’t even have to figure out the sizes of the pieces as it gives it to you for any size of block that you make!

I have an EQ seven and I am ashamed to say I do not use it much. It’s all new to me and being slightly computer illiterate I need to learn the program and just haven’t taken the time yet. I am going to-it is on my list of goals.

B. I have EQ7 and do use it when I carve out time to quilt. I never met a pattern that I’ve followed and rely on EQ7 to make sense of my continual changes. Results in original quilts made easier with EQ7.

A. I have EQ7 and I couldn’t live without it. I purchased it this spring when I was trying to design a Christmas quilt and I was having trouble putting it on paper. I designed a custom quilt and even drew some of my own blocks. It worked great! I now scan in my fabric and blocks for a block of the month quilt I am making. Plus I started a baby quilt for my new grandchild. I like that I get to play around with colors, fabrics and designs before I do my sewing or even buying the fabric. I have found the measurements to be precise and the software has help save my not mathematical brain from too much overload.

A. I have EQ 7/Stitch and couldn’t live without it! I’ve been with EQ since version 1. There simply is no better software for quilters, and every new version is more fantastic than the last. LOVE IT!!

I don’t use my EQ7 a great deal. However when I do use it I find it extremely helpful. It allows me to scan in my own fabric choices and calculates how much fabric I need to construct my quilt as designed. I found the online classes really useful when I first acquired EQ7.

I have EQ7. I had the first EQ. Over the many years it’s been my go to place to design not only quilts but other mosaic type art projects. I love to visualize the color and texture in my patterns with EQ7 and try for multiple larger patterns in the blocks I create. Planning is everything. When I need it, it’s there and I say, “This looks like a job for EQ!”

1:16 pm

I have EQ7 but don’t use it as much as I would like. I have a short learning span. I learn one section of EQ7 and think I have it but when I go to another section, I have forgotten how to incorporate what I just learned.
08-10-2016
1:37 pm
I’ve had Electric Quilt for several years and have not learned to use it much. I keep saying to myself that I should devote one month to each of the programs and equipment I have to really learn to use it. Perhaps this Fall will be the year I do it!!
08-10-2016
1:37 pm
I have EQ7 and use it often, but not as much as I’d like. I seem to have less time to quilt than I used to. I do enjoy playing around with fabrics and layout.

08-10-2016
1:56 pm
Just starting to learn EQ 7 and love it.
08-10-2016
1:58 pm
I have used EQ for many years, through the various upgrades and don’t know what I’d do without it. I scan in fabric and use it to audition choices for blocks of the month and then print out the one I choose as a guide. I use it for designing quilts and wall hangings and pillows for gifts and charity quilts. I’m a very visual person, so this really is perfect and a time-saver, since it cuts down on the missteps in designing. The Fabric Libraries are invaluable. I’m sure that there are many ways to use EQ 7 that I haven’t even discovered yet.
08-10-2016
1:59 pm
Definitely A! I have done a BOM for my quilt group for the last couple of years. I wouldn’t have been able to do it without the help of EQ7!! This is a wonderful program that I’m happy to have found many years ago

Answer is “A”. I have even started an “EQ7 Users Group” with some fellow long-arm quilters. We share what we have learned – everyone uses different features so it’s great to pick up “tips and tricks” from other users. Love the program!
08-10-2016
2:05 pm
I have EQ7 and have used it twice to create a quilt. I would love to use it more often but haven’t had the time to study exactly how to do it. I noticed recently that our local quilt show is offering a class and I plan to take it this fall.
08-10-2016
2:06 pm
A. and B. I Love EQ and use it every chance I get. I still work full time, so my off time is limited, but I use EQ to design quilts all the time. I LOVE IT!

08-10-2016
2:14 pm
I have EQ7 but I don’t use it much. Working full time doesn’t leave much time for designing. When I do have time to work out a design on the computer, EQ is my “go-go” quilting software.
08-10-2016
2:15 pm
I have EQ7 and I’m starting to use it more, but the learning curve (for me) is slow. I do love the results when I get it right, so I’m working on getting better.
08-10-2016
2:19 pm
B I use it as an adjunct to my design process – often more for sizing than actual quilt creation.
08-10-2016
2:19 pm
B. I have EQ, but don’t use it much. It is just a matter of finding the time to learn to use it and EQ STITCH.
08-10-2016
2:19 pm
B. Summer gets busy for us. I’ll be spending more time learning EQ this winter.
08-10-2016

Please excuse my typing error! EQ, not equal!!
08-10-2016
2:21 pm
“C”. I really want the program!!! (and the 15 yards of fabric
)
08-10-2016
2:21 pm
I have Eq7 and stitch I love it! It is the best thing since sliced bread. I have so much fun when I am using it. I love being able to scan in fabric from my stash that I am planning on using in a particular quilt design. Being able to see if what I am thinking makes any sense saves me time and fabric.
08-10-2016
2:21 pm

08-10-2016
2:28 pm
My answer is B. I have EQ, but really should use it more than I do. It is on my to-do list to sit down and really learn how to use it. Maybe this winter when I have more time I’ll sit down and really explore it. It is such a great tool.
08-10-2016
2:31 pm
My answer is E, I had EQ for years and confess I didn’t use it very often. But since I am now retired, downsized my household and moved to Maui I no longer have a computer. I use an iPad mini for everything. But I am considering purchasing a laptop and EQ 7 and taking online classes now that I have time to finally pull all those quilt ideas out of my dreams and make them!
08-10-2016
2:32 pm
B. I was fortunate last year to take a class in Houston but have not had much time to use. Plan to start using 30 minutes a day.

08-10-2016

08-10-2016
2:36 pm

2:37 pm
C. I don’t have EQ7, but I REALLY want it!
08-10-2016
2:45 pm
I use EQ7 as much as possible. I love to sketch a block or quilt on graph paper and then go to my EQ7 to design the details and possible end product. I love the flexibility of making changes while keeping my original ideas.
08-10-2016
2:47 pm
I’m definitely C. I really want to get this software!
08-10-2016

Classes on how to use it and look forward to retirement when I can live my dream everyday.
08-10-2016
3:04 pm
Somewhere between A and B. A when I’m playing with design ideas for sure, but B because once I settle on an idea it can be weeks before I use it again as I pretty much hand piece everything.
08-10-2016
3:05 pm
C is my pick. I have EQ6 but would dearly love to have EQ7. I use what I have all the time. A great tool!!!
08-10-2016
3:06 pm
A. I have EQ7 and I couldn’t live without it! I don’t think it’s possible to use it more than I already do, it’s addictive and I use it for hours on end. I would sew more, and would make up a few of my EQ7 Quilt patterns, if I had more Art Gallery fabrics!
08-10-2016
3:11 pm
Definitely B! But I see I’m not the only one trying to aspire to an A. Someday…

08-10-2016
3:18 pm
I have EQ but haven’t had a lot of time to learn it. The little bit that I have done tells me that I will love it! Maybe after retirement I will become a power user.
08-10-2016

08-10-2016
3:22 pm
I have EQ7 but don’t use it much. I keep starting to learn the program and then don’t carry through. But I’m so envious of all the quilts I see online that have been designed using EQ7. How do I get motivated?
08-10-2016
3:22 pm
A – use it for all the quilts I design. So much easier than sketching on graph paper.
08-10-2016
3:23 pm
B.I have the EQ7 but I use it just because I no longer my computer and rarely worked to my husband
08-10-2016

08-10-2016
3:28 pm

08-10-2016
3:29 pm
Long time user of EQ7 and companion softwares. I have never heard of Art Gallery but they definitely look like my flavor of design.
08-10-2016
3:30 pm
My answer is B. I love the possibilities, but don’t really want to spend my off-work time at a computer. (I am an accountant by trade, and face a computer for 8+ hours a day.) Someday, I will…
08-10-2016
3:33 pm
Most definitely A!!. Thanks to EQ (and my boss at the quilt shop) I am designing and selling quilting patterns. I use EQ almost daily. Thanks for such a wonderful program, AND the top-notch tech support!
08-10-2016
3:34 pm
A. I am a new user of EQ7 and currently creating a little master peice with it by scanning all my fabrics and picking color combinations that look fabulous together. I would have never combined these colors otherwise. I am saving so much time and money now.
08-10-2016
3:38 pm
B – I have used EQ since EQ3, and love designing with it. However, recently I have not been playing in EQ as much as I used to.
08-10-2016
3:39 pm
E at the moment! I have EQ7, am just learning to use it and hope that I will soon be in the A group!
08-10-2016
3:40 pm
***CCCC*** I have played with an old version that a friend has and would love to own it. I came close to saving enough for it earlier this year, but then had to purchase a new washing machine
So I am at it again…. I follow your blog and the resources that you so graciously post and am trying to learn as much as I can about EQ7. Timid about color, this program would let me preview my ideas as well as play with designs. I can’t wait to own my very own copy!!
08-10-2016
3:45 pm
C. I don’t have one but would love to try designing with one.
08-10-2016
3:46 pm

08-10-2016
3:48 pm

08-10-2016
3:52 pm
I have EQ7 and love it but don’t have much time to use it
08-10-2016
3:53 pm
I would love to have EQ7! I love designing my own quilts but it is so time consuming without design software. It is also difficult to be sure that I will like the quilt once it is done since I cannot preview it before starting!
08-10-2016
3:53 pm
B. I have it and need to use it MORE!!!
08-10-2016
3:54 pm
I have EQ7 and love to use it. I learn something new each time use it.
08-10-2016
3:55 pm
I would say B. I just have’nt had the time to sit down and learn it well enough to do a lot with it.
08-10-2016
3:55 pm
I’m a “C”. I’m an advanced novice, and every time I try to design my own pattern, I get so frustrated with math and measurements that I just give up. Maybe better Living through technology would help!
08-10-2016
3:56 pm
A. I’ve been with EQ since it’s inception with DOS!!
08-10-2016
3:58 pm
“C” I don’t have it, but would love to see everything it does
08-10-2016
3:59 pm
A and B. I love my EQ 7 but don’t get to use it as much as I would like. I need to learn more techniques. Wish I had time.
08-10-2016
4:01 pm
I have EQ7 and I couldn’t live wihout it. The latest quilt I designed on it won the Ugly fabric contest at our county fair last month. I designed a New York Beauty quilt. It’s the only way to go!

4:02 pm
B, I use EQ7 when ever I design a quilt, but then I sew it up, and then back to
EQ7. I hope to learn more about the program to make more intricate designs.
08-10-2016
4:02 pm
I definitely have to answer A. I have had EQ7 for about 6 months and I use it all the time. I love being able to map out all of the quilts I dream up and then play with all the possibilities!
08-10-2016
4:03 pm
I don’t have EQ7, but I really want it!
08-10-2016
4:04 pm
Definitely “A”. It is so much easier to use EQ than getting out the graph paper. And I can color and recolor until I’m satisfied.
08-10-2016
4:04 pm
I guess I choose A…..use it all the time, have had it since version four and love how it works. Makes everything ….literally …..easier. I hesitate only because I could live without it, but who in there right mind would want too? Lol
08-10-2016
4:05 pm
I’ve made quilts in it—but I do a lot of improve so I don’t use patterns much–but I get a lot of inspiration from it and have been trying to use it at least 2 hours every week.
08-10-2016
4:06 pm
I have EQ7 and love it, but don’t use it very much.
08-10-2016
4:08 pm
A- have EQ and love it

4:09 pm
HI there,
thanks for the beautiful fabric that we have the chance to win.
I do have an EQ 7 program but don’t use it as much as I would like.

4:10 pm
A!! I tried going without it for awhile, couldn’t do it.
08-10-2016
4:11 pm
C. I REALLY, really want it! On my Christmas list!
08-10-2016
4:12 pm
I probably open EQ7 at least once a day. Best design tool I could have.
08-10-2016
4:14 pm
My answer is A. I can’t imagine designing a new quilt without my EQ7. And the monthly downloads of fabric help me to stay current with available fabrics.
08-10-2016
4:15 pm
C; I have a limited budget but hope to someday have this great EQ7 software so I can make custom designed embroidery items to many of my charity friends
08-10-2016
4:15 pm
A – I can’t live without my EQ7 on my Mac! I use it to design all of my quilts and it is great for making virtual quilts! When I make the quilt on EQ and then make it in fabric, it looks just like the image. I love that about the program. I also love how I can fussy cut fabrics in my blocks to create Kaleidoscope designs.
08-10-2016
4:19 pm
The answer is B, I have EQ7 but I am still learning how to use it. I am sure if I could figure it out it would help me design quilts for my customers.
08-10-2016
4:19 pm
C – I really want it but I’ve been struggling with unexplained headaches for the past several years so any computer work is harder than it used to be, especially learning something new but I love the idea of it so much!
08-10-2016
4:21 pm
B – I just got EQ7, but have already done some of the tutorials – I’m sure I’ll be an A very soon!
08-10-2016
4:22 pm
E. I bought EQ7 less than 2 weeks ago so I’m just getting started. The lessons are fantastic and I’m learning everyday.
08-10-2016
4:22 pm
My answer is B at the moment but I have just retired and I have already started going through the lessons I have been saving over the last few years and starting to use it on a daily basis. I have a friend who has just had a baby so will be using it to design a cot quilt for her.
08-10-2016
4:23 pm
B. I have EQ7 but I don’t use it much. But love it when I get time to use it!
08-10-2016
4:23 pm
B+. I don’t do a lot of quilting, so I don’t use the program as much as some of my other programs. As far as quilt planning software, though, I don’t want to have to live without it. Is that a B+ or an A-?
08-10-2016
4:23 pm
I have EQ and I do not use it much…really lack of knowing how to use it, But I am trying to use it more to learn more. My goal is to get better with EQ so I can also get the Eq Stitch. I also try to do the projects that are offered in the emails. Thanks for the chance to win.
08-10-2016
4:24 pm
A: I wouldn’t want to quilt without it!
08-10-2016
4:24 pm
I have EQ7 and use it with every quilt I make, but not to the degree that I know it can be used. I just need to find the time to learn more about the program, but everytime I see my quilt developing, I can’t wait and jump right into my fabrics.
08-10-2016
4:26 pm
A i have had the EQ program for many years.
08-10-2016
4:30 pm
B. Have it but don’t use it enough. When I do it is great.
08-10-2016
4:30 pm
I use my EQ whenever playing around with an idea in my head, helps me actually see the possibilities – definitely not a pro, still learning.
Thanks for this opportunity to win!
08-10-2016
4:31 pm
A. I have EQ7 and use it in making sample quilts for my quilting classes at JoAnn Fabrics. I like that it will give me the fabric amounts needed
08-10-2016
4:31 pm
A. I’m still learning but really use it a lot. I like to do custom layouts with panels
08-10-2016
4:32 pm
C. Would love to have this program
08-10-2016
4:33 pm
A. I have EQ7 and use it in making sample quilts for my quilting classes at JoAnn Fabrics. I like that it gives the fabric amount needed.

4:33 pm
A
I’ve had every edition of EQ from the beginning.
08-10-2016
4:34 pm
I have EQ7 and do no use it much. This is not due to not enjoying the software but time. I have recently retired and intend to use the great tutorials this company offers to become very familiar with this product. I also intend on getting the stitch module in September to provide a complete tool for quilting.
08-10-2016
4:34 pm
A. I love using EQ7 when designing quilts, and I love to design quilts! It’s so easy to make changes in blocks, colors, applique shapes, etc. without wasting time and fabric on trial and error. Great tool!
08-10-2016
4:37 pm
C. I don’t have EQ7, but I REALLY want it!
08-10-2016
4:40 pm
I’m B. I use it when I design my own quilts to get yardage etc., I know it does so much more and need to take the time to learn it!
08-10-2016
4:44 pm
I have had each version of EQ from 2 on up. Have used each extensively and love it.
08-10-2016
4:45 pm
C. I don’t have EQ7, but I REALLY want it!
I’ve been wanting it for years, even asked for it for Christmas or birthdays to no avail. Would love to try it. I might not get any sewing done, as I’d probably be designing quilts all the time.
08-10-2016
4:47 pm
B I do have EQ7 but don’t use it often enough. I plan on using it more in the future.
08-10-2016
4:49 pm
I have EG7 and have never learned to use it!
08-10-2016
4:49 pm
E. I have EQ7 but have never learned to use it!
08-10-2016
4:50 pm
A – I have EQ7 and love it. I don’t think I could ever live without it. I do all my designing and coloring in EQ7 before I start the actual cutting and working on a quilt project.
08-10-2016
4:51 pm
I have EQ7 but just can’t find the time to learn how to use it but am hoping that will happen very soon!!!
08-10-2016
4:52 pm
C: I have the simpler version you sell, and I love it. I really want the fabric scanning feature of EQ7.
08-10-2016
4:54 pm
I guess I am a “B” gal. B cup, B-cuz, BBB. I have owned EQ since version 4….taken on line classes and get just about up to speed and family life gets to be too exciting. I have a very nice studio being bui,t Just for Me. I am looking forward to unpacking lots of storage boxes and make relearning and using EQ again. The blog and a super yahoo group keep my toes in the water. And a new laptop is coming in next few months. More speed and hopefully make me and EQ dance better together
The fabric is simply happy….I can see a small postscript where it is saying it wants to live in northern Wisconsin…. :0)
08-10-2016
4:55 pm
A. I have had EQ for many years and love it.
08-10-2016
4:56 pm
B – I find EQ7 good for some projects but most of the time I use Adobe Illustrator because it is faster with my designs.
08-10-2016
4:58 pm
I recently received EQ7 as a birthday gift and am having a great time learning how to use it!
08-10-2016
4:58 pm
C minus…I don’t have EQ7 and I’m curious about it. I’ve read some folks have purchased it only to never use it…that scares me!
08-10-2016
5:00 pm
I have an eq 7, but am soooo slow learning to use it. The only thing I’ve done so far is make pretty labels for the backs of my show quilts.
08-10-2016
5:00 pm
C. I don’t have EQ7, but I REALLY want it!
08-10-2016
5:02 pm
C. I don’t have it. I’ve used EQ5 in the past
I would love to try version 7.
08-10-2016
5:03 pm
My answer would be A. Have had EQ since EQ2, I think…..long time. I rarely make a quilt without doing some design work on EQ. A great tool and resource!
08-10-2016
5:05 pm
B. I love the program and have done a couple of the online courses. I just don’t have the time to get the best from EQ7.
08-10-2016
5:05 pm
D I really want to try it
08-10-2016
5:06 pm
B. I love EQ7 but I don’t have enough time to get the best out of it.
08-10-2016
5:07 pm
I have EQ7 and can’t live without it. I have been an EQ user since it first began with EQ1. I design all my quilts on EQ and would be lost without it. I’ve done quilts to table runners to wall art and everything else I can think of. It is an invaluable tool. I really like the workbooks to store all my projects and it makes me more organized.
08-10-2016
5:09 pm
A. I have EQ7 and love it!! Whether trying out colors in a quilt I’m going to make or working on a new Mystery Quilt design, I’m on EQ at least once a week. My friends who don’t have it even call upon me to help them decide on colors for their quilts. I just draw up their quilt design and then we explore different color options!! PLUS your staff has been so helpful and patient when I have a question or problem. They go the extra mile every time!!
08-10-2016
5:11 pm
I have EQ7 but don’t use it as much as I should. I am comfortable with all the basics but I would really love to learn to use all the more advanced drawing/block creating tools. I am especially confused by the curve tools. I do have the books; however, I would so much rather go to a class with live instructors, but the workshops never seem to be on the east coast.
08-10-2016
5:11 pm
I don’t have eq7 but I really really want it!
08-10-2016
5:12 pm
Love EQ can’t live without it. Since 2004 (!)
08-10-2016
5:13 pm
B. I just need to feel confident about certain parts of it to use it regularly.
08-10-2016
5:14 pm
I have EQ and use it when I need to figure out colors. You would think that being retired that I would have all kinds of time to learn it better! But I’m sure that day is coming! Just finished a few years of watching my grandson so some time will be freed up!!
08-10-2016
5:15 pm
I don’t have EQ. If I see a demo, learned how it works, I’m sure I would want it!
Thank you.
AGF is amazing!
08-10-2016
5:17 pm
A. I own EQ7 and love it! So much fun to experiment with colors and help friends with colours etc. with their quilts.
08-10-2016
5:18 pm
A) I have EQ7 and I don’t know what I would do without it. As I learn more about using it, I am able to explore many more design ideas and to explore them much more quickly.
08-10-2016
5:19 pm
I have owned EQ7 for some time and I am still learning more of it’s capabilities. Thanks for the contest!
08-10-2016
5:19 pm
B. I have it but haven’t learned to use it yet.
08-10-2016
5:19 pm
I have EQ, and I love it! I love the ability to create my own designs and resize them as I wish. I also love the add on software for specialty blocks, including Dear Jane and Karen Stone’s many beautiful blocks!
08-10-2016
5:20 pm
I have EQ7,a gift from my husband, but just can’t seem to find the time to sit down and learn how to use it. I’ve played with it a little and think it is a great tool for quilters.
08-10-2016
5:22 pm
I have it. I’ve been working through the lessons. It’s too bad I have to have a JOB that keeps me away from what I really want to do 11 hours of the day! But I guess I have to work to support my quilting habit! lol!
08-10-2016
5:24 pm
I have not been able to use my EQ7 in quite a while due to illness in the family and a very busy time taking care of my husband. Hopefully, my life will settle down and I can play with my toys soon.
08-10-2016
5:25 pm
B. I have EQ7 but I don’t use it much. Time and other commitments make it difficult to do my hobbies.
08-10-2016
5:26 pm
A I have EQ7 and LOVE it! I preview almost all my quilts on the program. It’s especially helpful in seeing the fabric choices I’ve made and if they go well together or not. Also, when I’m asked to custom make a quilt, I’ll able to give the person several choices in quilt set ups to pick from, thus simplifying the process immensely!
08-10-2016
5:27 pm
E. I have EQ7 but I need to learn how to install it and use the software. Fabric is soo beautiful.
08-10-2016
5:31 pm
C. I hope one day
08-10-2016
5:33 pm
A. I can not live without it. I can not wait to get home and design
08-10-2016
5:36 pm
I have EQ7 but I don’t use it much. I can never seem to find a block of time to play around with it.
08-10-2016
5:38 pm
I have EQ7 but don’t use it much…..yet. It is still new to me and I’m learning. The more proficient I become, the more I know I will be using it!
08-10-2016
5:38 pm
A. I have EQ7 and couldn’t live without it. I don’t use it nearly enough in all of its capabilities. But I make a lot of doll quilts for a friend in New Mexico for her quilt guild’s charities. I love to machine embroider, so I use EQ7 for previewing my embroidery designs in any number of borders (right out of EQ7) with my own fabrics. When I print them out I end up with a nice record of my little projects.
Thanks for a great product.
08-10-2016
5:39 pm
B – I really like it, but I have limited time to play with all my fun toys!
08-10-2016
5:39 pm
A!Ihave EQ 7. Aand I have had EQ since EQ 2. I am one of the least computer literate persons anywhere, but it is so user friendly that I have very little problems with it. I also love Block Base, and EQ Stitch and many, many of the other EQ products. Their customer service is superb!
08-10-2016
5:39 pm
I guess I am category B. I’d like to have the time to experiment more with the program which has always proved useful, not only in working out a design but also giving me some idea of fabric requirements.
08-10-2016
5:41 pm
A. I’ve used every version since EQ2 and love it!
08-10-2016
5:42 pm
A. I love my EQ! I got my first software from EQ in the late 90′s from Quilt Market when I was beginning my pattern biz. There was a little lapse between the 6 & 7 due to a computer change to Apple. I Love the new software, and having a great time playing with it!
08-10-2016
5:42 pm
I’m somewhere between A and B. I don’t use EQ real frequently (my quilting time is limited), but I really value the way it helps me plan a quilt. It is a great way to audition designs and fabric and I love having it!
08-10-2016
5:42 pm
B, I want to learn more, especially designing my own appliqué
08-10-2016
5:44 pm
B I have EQ but, I don’t use it enough
08-10-2016
5:45 pm
E- I have just purchased EQ7 and 2 lesson books can’t wait to get started creating circular quilts in particular.
08-10-2016
5:49 pm
I have EQ7 and am amazed at what it is capable of doing. But……I’m not a confident user. Need to review and restart my learning!!!!!
08-10-2016
5:51 pm
I have EQ7. I used to use it frequently but have not used it as much the last couple of years.
08-10-2016
5:54 pm
A and a little B; I love EQ, but at the moment, I’m a bit swamped with finishing things, not creating new ones. Happy to be getting UFOs off the list, but I’m really needing to create something new!
08-10-2016
5:54 pm
Answer is B. Wish I could learn better how to use it but it seems to cost too much money… Hopefully one of these days I’ll win the lottery!!!
08-10-2016
5:58 pm
My answer would be B. I work full time and hope to use it more when I retire in two more years. I also have EQ Stitch, but unfortunately I cannot put my hands on it right now. I also purchased several programs that go along with it.
08-10-2016
6:00 pm
C: I REALLY would love to be able to afford the EQ7, but it’s just nor in the budget now
08-10-2016
6:03 pm
I love using EQ7 to make my sketches “work”!
08-10-2016
6:08 pm
C. I too do not use it as much as I’d like to be able to. Still plan to keep learning new things with it.
08-10-2016
6:08 pm
clearly I’m a B. I usually spend my sewing time sewing and don’t take the time to learn to use EQ efficiently. I keep saving the tutorials and blog hints for someday. I’m also unhappy that my hard drive crashed, using up one use. Then I switched laptops and lost the second so its a hassle to have to switch to my single use.
08-10-2016
6:09 pm
I do have EQ7, I love what I’ve seen and done so far, but haven’t used it much as I have a limited amount of time available. As soon as I get a few UFOs completed, I’ll start playing with it again.
08-10-2016
6:09 pm
B – I’ve got it and used it for a few projects. Just wish I had more time to play!
08-10-2016
6:10 pm
A. I have EQ7 and I couldn’t live without it. I love to design my own quilt designs. I have been busy learning the EQ Stitch as well. I am an addict!
08-10-2016
6:12 pm
C. Really want it but not in budget right now.
08-10-2016
6:12 pm
I love EQ! I’ve used it since EQ5. If I see a design idea or quilt I like, I head for EQ7 and see what I can come up with. I use it for my guild and quilt friends’ ideas, too. Great for figuring out colors and sizes, along with fabric quantities.
08-10-2016
6:14 pm
C. I don’t have EQ7, but I REALLY love to own it to expand my quilting skills along with designing my own blocks.
08-10-2016
6:17 pm
B. I have it, would love to have more time to be creative, I’ve made lots of virtual quilts! Maybe some day I’ll get them made.
08-10-2016
6:17 pm
I am definitely an “A” answer. I started with EQ5 and Now with EQ7 I like to design most of my quilts- I also like using EQ stitch. I really love the fact that after designing your quilt – it tells you how much of each fabric you need. What a great software program for quilters
08-10-2016
6:18 pm
C. I only have EQ5 and I like it, but I really, really want to upgrade to EQ7 for all the added features.
08-10-2016
6:19 pm
A. I love EQ7 and I couldn’t live without it. I design quilts, play with coloring and use it to determine yardage for my quilts. I haven’t designed blocks much, but I know that option is there.
08-10-2016
6:20 pm
I’ve had it for years but haven’t used it much for lack of expertise. But I just finished EQ University’s Medallions and Borders class and am currently enrolled in Building Blocks. The classes are great and I look forward to being proficient and becoming an A!
08-10-2016
6:21 pm
I just got EQ7 and want to learn more. I think it will help. Can’t go to any classes yet, but I have put working the lessons on my calendar to work thru soon.
08-10-2016
6:26 pm
I started with EQ6 but never learned it. Then my Husband bought me EQ7 have never really used it (beause again haven’t learned it). I took a couple classes at a local Store but then moved to Texas (from Chicago) I really would love to learn to do all the Special Things that it offers.
08-10-2016
6:28 pm
I love my EQ7. I use it constantly to build quilts an love the ability to resize easily.
08-10-2016
6:28 pm
My answer is A & B – I have had EQ since EQ4 and I uses it all the time and I love it, but a few years ago I had some unexpected health issues that took me out of my sewing/quilt room. I am just now revamping my room to make it more handicap friendly and am planning on building back up to daily visits to that room! I do love EQ7 and am considering purchasing EQ Stitch. New fabric for my stash would be a wonderful way to start my new adventures in quilting!
08-10-2016
6:29 pm
Absolutely no doubt about it – A++++
I love using EQ7 for designing, auditioning fabrics, planning projects and so much more. It is also a great stress reliever to “play” in EQ7 and I’m always amazed how 15 minutes/day of such playtime can help me learn so much, so quickly. I encourage all EQ users to challenge themselves to play in their SW for 15 minutes and within a few weeks I’m sure they’ll be amazed how much fun they are having and how much they are learning. Of course, taking a class at EQ University is also a great way to learn too!

B, because I’ve just started quilting and am learning and trying so many things that I haven’t yet spent a lot of time designing. But, just wait! I love the software and will soon be designing a ton of things. Also anxious to add EQ Stitch to my repeatoir.
08-10-2016
6:39 pm
My answer is “C”…would love to have it!
08-10-2016
6:41 pm
C Wish I could afford it.
08-10-2016
6:41 pm
My answer, sadly, is B. I don’t use it as much as I should. I’ve used it to design blocks and to ‘redesign’ a couple of quilts. I upgraded from EQ5, and did use that to design a couple of quilts.
08-10-2016
6:41 pm
My answer is C. I really want EQ7. Several of my friends have it and I think I would enjoy it.
08-10-2016
6:41 pm
I am an “A”. I love it for designing all kinds of quilts and checking out color choices….makes life a lot easier!
08-10-2016
6:42 pm
Both A and B. Love when I get to use it but don’t get to use it as much as I would like.
08-10-2016
6:45 pm
My answer is A & E. I use EQ7 daily but my 10 year old granddaughter has also become proficient at designing quilts on it so needs her own program. She made her first quilt at 4 years old and her stash is offcuts from others. 15 yards of fabric to design a quilt with and she would be in heaven
08-10-2016
6:46 pm
A I love EQ7!!
08-10-2016
6:48 pm
Diana. I don’t really need this software in my quilting life right now. But, who knows when I will want to start designing my own quilts. Thanks!
08-10-2016
6:49 pm
My answer is C. I don’t currently do any quilt designing but it would be fun to try.
08-10-2016
6:50 pm
B. I have EQ7 but I don’t use it much. I know the basics, but mostly, I just don’t design many quilts. Going back and doing all the EQ7 lessons has been on my to do list forever.
I belong to a Project Linus group whose leader comes up with a new pattern just about every month. Almost all of the quilts I make are for Project Linus and I tend to reuse patterns I’ve made before or figure it out as I go along. E.g., make blocks. then stick them on the design wall to help decide how to set them together.

I have to say A and B. I’m still working full time, so do not have much time to play. Saying that I have enjoyed EQ for quite awhile. My sweetie purchased EQ2 right after it came out. I have enjoyed all the updates. Thank you so much for all your products.

I have EQ7 and use it all the time. I Started out with EQ5 and have twice upgraded. I don’t think I could quilt without it. Love, love, love it and have way more quilts designed than I will ever actually make.

B. I would like to do more quilt design but work 10 hour days in healthcare so I find myself exhausted at the end of my day. Hopefully I can cut back my hours sometime soon so I can enjoy more time with my quilting passion besides on the weekends.

My response is E. I have EQ7 and am looking forward to retirement so I will have more time to master the software. It has so much potential and I am really looking forward to learning the software and haven’t been able to dedicate enough time to really learn all that it cam don’t.
08-10-2016

That should say….haven’t been able to dedicate enough time to really learn all that it can do….

7:30 pm
You didn’t give us an option between A and B. That’s where I am. I suppose I could get along without it, but I sure don’t want to be without it. I love it, and use it frequently – sometimes just to redo the size of a quilt I’ve seen a picture of, but want to adjust the size. EQ7 helps me see what it will look like in a different size, and maybe even different color fabrics. I sure don’t use it to it’s full capabilities, but it is very intuitive to use, and it works well for my needs.
08-10-2016
7:31 pm
My answer is C. I really, really want the software!
08-10-2016
7:38 pm
My answer is a little more than B moving toward A! If that is any kind of an answer! I’ve had EQ since it’s inception and I do love it! I just haven’t used it as much as I should. Over the past few years several friends and I have formed a Round Robin group and I find I have turned to EQ to help me develop my ideas for my turn and as a result I have come up with some creative and wonderful rounds for my projects! I love, love, love it and, of course, whenever I have developed a problem the staff has always been most helpful and friendly!

A. I just upgraded to eQ7. I retired a year and a half ago and planned on quilting to my hearts content, but alas medical issues took precedence. I am now ready to start learning the latest software. Looking forward to the time spent doing what I love!

My answer is A. I have EQ and use it to design quilts. To calculate yardage for other projects. And I also use it to plan the best way to cut pieces from a fat quarter.

B. I have EQ7 but don’t use it much. I purchased a couple of your books and they are great. Can you schedule a EQ University in the Southeast? Thanks for the giveaway. Beautiful fabrics!

My answer is A. I have found it to be a valuable tool. I have finally graduated to creating my own pieced hexagons in the program and love how easy it is.

7:56 pm
I love EQ7, Dear Jane EQ, and Block Base & the Karen Stone CD. My DH tried to convince me to get a Chromebook rather than a laptop when I recently needed to get a new computer. I told him I’d not be able to load my Electric Quilt software if I went with Chromebook… I depend on EQ7 to give me the creative outlet and the flexible power to design quilts. I simply can not live without it. Thank you for creating such a fabulous software suite!

8:03 pm
I love EQ7, I just don’t get to use it as much as I would like because I work outside of the home. Retirement is less than 5 years away and boy do I have a lot of projects rolling around in my head that I can hardly wait to design!
08-10-2016

My answer is a combo of B and E. I have EQ7 and I love it but I don’t use it as much as I should. When I use it, I love the way my quilt turns out. But inbetween I try and finish projects that have accumulated and it takes me away from EQ7.
08-10-2016

8:19 pm
A & B – I have EQ7 but it’s on my old laptop, and I’ve been using an iPad for 3 years now. I miss using EQ! It was very fun playing with block designs, using existing and imported fabric swatches, creating notecards with yardage requirements, and being able to put design to paper quickly. Comparing a finished quilt to the original concept drawing? Fun, and fulfilling.
08-10-2016
8:19 pm
B – I have EQ7, but don’t get to use it as much as I would like – little time to work on my own quilts right now.

B, I find myself making quilts instead of designing them
08-10-2016
8:25 pm
A. I have had EQ since EQ5, and I adore it. Before that, I was using a simple draw program to try out designs. Ever since the first time I started up the program, I have been in love. I love to design quilts, but there will never be enough hours in the day or days in the rest of my life to make all of the designs. Instead, I can make 10 or 20 versions of the same basic design until I find just the right layout, borders, and fabric. I have design several mystery quilts for my guild’s retreats. I have also used EQ when giving my 8th-grade geometry students a real-world design task. They could draw up the plans for the framing of a shed or small building, create a landscape plan for a backyard, or design a quilt top. For the girls and boys that chose the quilt, I entered their drawing of their quilt block(s) into EQ7 and printed out the block and the quilt and several copies without material for them to color to finalize their layout. Obviously there was a lot more to the projects, but the kids loved them, and I think I have interested a few in learning how to quilt!

B at present, but now I am retired hope to start learning to use it. So far I have scanned all my fabrics into the fabric library, so that when I start I can use my own fabrics when designing patterns. Really looking forward to becoming a master user of EQ7

I have been using EQ7 for a couple of years and really love it. At the moment I am using it to make foundation papers for the blocks that I want to make. I love the accuracy that it enables rather than using templates or simple rotary cutting.
08-10-2016
8:39 pm
A. I go through periods where I’m using it a lot to try out blocks, audition fabrics, etc. And then sometimes life gets too busy and I can’t “play” as much. But I love the program because I don’t have room for a design wall right now, so EQ7 is my virtual design wall.
08-10-2016
8:39 pm
I am an A. I design with it, estimate yardage, print quilts to design quilting for a custom quilt, and so much more.

9:15 pm
My answer is C. I am sort of new at quilting and not very good at it yet. I spend a lot of time on excel and using paper and pencil designing quilts I would like to make but it takes me forever to figure out what I need and how to cut and piece it together. I have tons of fabric to use up. If I do not make the quilts my daughter will just donate all my goodies when I die (hopefully not soon). I am trying to get my granddaughter into it with me. I bought the very basic program but I have not been able to buy the upgraded program. The basic program is limited like excel.

I use it to design blocks and quilts, to create applique patterns, to make workshop instructions, to share patterns and to enlarge and reduce blocks. It’s a great way to experiment with design and pays for itself in saved fabric.

B is the answer, as much as I would like for it to be different. I bought EQ7 after making my first quilt. I am embarrassed to say that I bought EQ7 thinking I would be able to audition quilt projects before I start cutting, sewing, quilting. So far that has not happened. I get excited at the possibilities when I play with EQ and the next thing I know I’m cutting and sewing something. I need to schedule the time to work in EQ and stick to the schedule.

B. I have EQ7 but don’t use it much.
I have had every EQ since the first one and have used it a lot, but our home computer is Linux based and we haven’t been able to get EQ to run adequately on it. Since the Windows section of the hard drive failed I haven’t really been able to use it.

A. I have EQ and love it! My grandson, now 9, has been designing blocks for 3 or so years and is now into combining blocks that make interesting quilt designs. We use EQ when we play Quilt Shop, printing the designs as if they are real quilts, and then we ”package and mail’ them. So, EQ has evolved into a make-believe business that we operate as Wayne & Dwayne’s. Both names were created by him, nether of which are our real names. Perhaps you will want to use EQ as a way to play an educational game with yours!

Answer: A I have EQ7 and could not do without it. I have a wonderful time using it, from EQ5 upwards!. Changing blocks, patches, colours or fabrics and quilt layouts is so easy. You can completely change to look with a few clicks. With lessons, videos and manuals etc. I found it really easy to use. Great program!!

A: I have EQ7 and could not live without it. I once made a quilt incorporating two tones of green…when placed next to each other they did not match. For some reason I thought it would look alright, so I scanned the fabric into the program and designed my quilt. It looked fabulous on screen when set into the quilt. While nervous, I went ahead and made this quilt and it turned out very pretty! I am one of those people who needs to be able to see the finished product…would not be without it!

A. I have EQ7 and I couldn’t live without it! – I am definitely A – I love my EQ7 and can’t live without it. EQ7 is my go to tool whether I am dreaming up my next creation or tweaking my design to show different block combinations. I love the fact that I can scan and save my fabrics, create my one of a kind blocks and have not only a visual of my creation but print out templates. I love the tips of the day and being able to click on the Display Dynamic Help/Video Help. Great information at a click.
Love – Love – Love EQ7.
