I’m excited about the EQ Academy. I had hoped that I would have the opportunity to learn about both EQ7 and EQ Stitch. I will probably sign up for EQ Stitch.

12:26 pm
If you register for EQStitch you will indeed learn things about the EQ7 side of the program as well. You’ll visit the EQ7 worktables and libraries, but the majority of the work will be on the Stitching worktable as there is a great amount to cover.

will each class have beginners to advance instruction or will classes be divided into experience levels?
07-23-2014
3:12 pm
Classes will not be divided into experience levels, but will move sequentially, over the 3-day period, from beginning to increasingly advanced topics.

11:43 am
Thanks for your interest, Nadine! This is our first go at an organized weekend retreat. At this time, I’m not sure what we will be able to offer in other areas. I will tell you that we’re working on an online class website for EQ7 and EQStitch users. We hope to have that up and running next year!

Will you have a class on the WEST COAST? PLEASE!!
07-29-2014
11:27 am
would it be appropriate to have a husband along or might there be things planned/that happen in the evening that a husband would not care to attend? e.g more chatter about EQ7?
07-29-2014
11:45 am
Husbands are welcome to come as travel partners! We have lectures Friday evening, otherwise you’ll be done by 4:30pm each day.

I’m with the others repeating the chorus: PLEASE HAVE A CLASS ON THE WEST COAST!!!

There are often classes taught on the West coast. You can check classes on our electricquilt.com site, by typing in your zip code:

Will you have one in the Cincinnati area?
07-29-2014
11:54 am
I would greatly appreciate an online course. I am a wee bit disabled and as such it’s difficult fir me to do anything for a six or seven hour stretch. A class styled like the craftsy courses would be great. Where you sign up and pay, but then have unlimited access.

12:22 pm
I am in California and I think a great idea is to have an on-line course. Traveling to another state to attend this class would be impossible for myself as well as some in other states as well. I have the EQ7 and have yet to use it because it is somewhat complicated to navigate through all the features. I am a visual learner and I think having an on-line class would be SO beneficial!!!

Hi, what hotels are offering the price mentioned? How will we get from hotel to the University? What type of parking and how far is it from the “room” the class is in?
07-29-2014
1:04 pm
The classroom building is a satellite building for BGSU. So it’s not on the main campus of BGSU. It’s next to the Hilton Garden Inn. Very easy walk from the hotel to the building. There is free parking in front of the classroom building, if necessary.
07-30-2014
2:54 pm
yes – this is a great location! even some shopping right there in the complex! and great restaurants! haven’t been in the hotel (we live right next to it), but if it is like most Hilton Garden Inn’s it’s really nice!

I learned a lot in Cananda a couple of years ago and want more! I may drive our RV to OH. Can you send me info about where there are RV parks/resorts…..or then area where you will be teaching and I can look up the info. Hope to see you, Palma
07-29-2014
1:07 pm
I don’t know of any RV parks off hand, but I’m sure you can find some by looking up Perrysburg, OH. The classroom building is at the BGSU building at Levis Commons, Perrysburg, OH, 43551.

12:46 pm
This would be a great chance for me to combine a family visit in northwest Ohio (I live in Wisconsin) with EQ training. I hope I can get in!!
07-29-2014
1:22 pm
Will transportation be provided to the classes at the University and back to the hotel? If not, can you estimate the cab fare? I’d rather not add the cost of a rental car to airfare and housing!
07-29-2014
1:31 pm
There really is no need for transportation from the hotel to the classes. When you walk out the back door of the hotel, the classroom building is right across the road.

10:19 pm
Will the EQ7 course be designed for new MAC users ( i.e., for users who did not convert from PC to MAC)?
Thank you
07-30-2014
9:10 am
The EQ7 classes are for all skill levels. The teachers are very experienced and do a wonderful job teaching new users and more advanced users in the same setting. Their teaching styles are a perfect blend so new users don’t fall behind and advanced users aren’t bored. You’ll always be learning something, no matter your skill level.
07-30-2014
3:25 pm
I’ll add that the both students on EQ7 (PC) and EQ7 (Mac) can take these classes. A few key commands will differ between the operating systems, but that is about all. So the instructions will work for both, and teachers are aware of these key command differences.

I am in South Africa so whilst I would love to attend the weekend retreat i am unable to. I am delighted that you are planning an online EQ7 course. I will definitely sign up for this. I will be waiting is anticipation for it’s launch.
07-30-2014
3:31 pm
one more question – will you post the formula to clone oneself so that I might take both classes?
07-31-2014
10:50 am
Will these classes be repeated in other areas of the country? Milwaukee, WI, Chicago, Ill, or Minneapolis, MN?

This is our first go at an organized weekend retreat. At this time, we’re not sure what we will be able to offer in other areas. I will tell you that we’re working on an online class website for EQ7 and EQStitch users. We hope to have that up and running next year! I really like the idea of a craftsy type of online classes. I use craftsy all the time and I find that being able to go back over the instruction given is a great help. I’m sure there would be many takers if that type of platform was used.

I grew up in the Perrysburg area! We live in AZ now and go back to Ohio in the summer time to visit family. I am so jealous that you will be having the classes there and I will not be there at that time.
I will keep an eye out for similar classes in my area, should you decide to do so. Video classes would also be greatly appreciated!

Lucky people in Ohio. Does EQ ever have an Academy in Australia, please?
08-03-2014
5:32 pm
I’m with many who made the request for an on-line class. Like one of the commentators, I too am a wee bit disabled, and not only is the length of the class a drawback but so too is the drive time, even though I live in the Midwest. With an on-line class you lose some of the personal interaction with the instructor (not all of it if it’s properly structured) but you open the opportunity to more people. Plus, it makes sense to do the teaching of this skill on-line since we’re learning a computer skill. So keep the class into coming, and keep working on that on-line offering!

I am looking for a similar event in Australia. Forever hopeful.

About the required lap top? My EQ7 and EQStitch are loaded on my desk top PC. Will the software allow me to load them onto my husband’s lap top (i.e. license and registration, etc)?
08-08-2014
9:56 am
Yes, you can install on the laptop as well. Since you have EQ7 and EQStitch, you only need to install the EQStitch disc, not the EQ7 disc. During installation and activation, the installer will ask for your EQ7 license # and your EQStitch license #. Be sure to have both handy. Email techsupport@electricquilt.com if you have any other questions!
