Sew the block and send your picture to webmaster@electricquilt.com. If you send in the picture, you get one entry for the contest to win a free Judy Martin Star’s & Sets software in May. Each month we’ll have a new prize, so email in a picture of your quilt block to enter. (One entry per person per month.) Pictures will be added to this blog in a Finished Blocks post with your name. A winner will be chosen on May 2, 2011 for April’s block.
Don’t worry about sending a professional photograph. As long as it isn’t on too much of an angle and I can see the whole block and the image is over 400px, I can crop it for the blog.
New block patterns will be posted at the beginning of each month. Winners from the previous month will be chosen at the beginning of each month.
If you would like to be notified when the new pattern is available, you can do any of the following:
1. Subscribe to our newsletter.
2. Fan us on Facebook.
3. Subscribe to RSS feeds of this blog.
Note: These block patterns are for personal use only. Please do not include them in published works.

Hi,
I really like the red/black/white block and wanted to print the rotary cutting colorway, but the blue/brown block in there instead.
Just thought you should know.
Thanks,
Mary

While I am familiar with foundation piecing, I think that I need some clarification of the size and construction of this block. I see a reference to 6″. So, is the finished block supposed to be 6″, or do I enlarge the foundation pieces and are the pieces separate so that each piece is seamed together? I guess that I’m dumber than I thought. I do love the red/black/whie combo!
Thanks!

If you have EQ7, you can open the project and sew the blocks any size you want. They don’t have to be 6″.
The PDFs are set up so the block is 6″. Sew the sections, then sew the sections together. The black solid lines are seam lines (or the outside edge of the finished block. The dotted lines around each section are the seam allowance edge. Make sure when you’re printing the PDFs that the dotted lines do appear on your printouts.

Oh how I love the looks of this BoM Quilt. Red/white/black ~WOWZER!!!
I’m a newbie (therefore, no stashes) . . . and would love to make this. Thinking “I think I can, I think I can”.
Where does it tell us how much fabric to purchase for this quilt?
Thanks in advance . . . and I’m glad I found you.

Hi Gloria,
No it’s not too late to join! Go ahead and make the Jan/Feb/Mar blocks. If you finish the April block before May 1, email me a picture at webmaster@electricquilt.com and I’ll post it in the April gallery.
The main page for the block of the month is here. You’ll find all the patterns/galleries/announcements archived here:
https://doyoueq.com/blog/?page_id=2176
Your question is answered on the FAQ page:
https://doyoueq.com/blog/?p=2114
There will be 12 main blocks. Depending on how you choose to “color” them, will determine how many fabrics you need. The four sample colorways use anywhere from 4-7 fabrics per block. The amount of yardage you need for all the blocks depends on how many fabrics you’re using to color the blocks. When I printed yardage from EQ7, it was about 1/2 yard per color, 1 yard for background fabric (brown) when I was using all 7 colors to color all the blocks. I would buy extra for alternate blocks, borders, binding, and backing though.
I hope this helps.
Best wishes,
Andrea @ EQ

I *goofed* with my original email address.
I was wondering why I didn’t get a response.
Should read “gloria” blah, blah, blah. I had mistyped my first name. Can you believe that?!
Sorry, and thanks for your answer.

I’ve downloaded the project, but some of the fabrics (the black and white) are missing. Can you fix this too?
