I paper-pieced scrap strings onto phone book pages cut into triangles, then tore off the paper, ironed them flat, and trimmed to equilateral triangles. Sewing the vertical rows required lots of pinning to control the bias edges. Solid end pieces and borders help to contain the color chaos. There are lots of memories in these strings!
