My wife’s quilt group, Shipton Quilters, asked if I would design a project for the group members during lockdown in November. They were impressed with the other quilts I had made, that are also on this blog. Using EQ8 I decided to use the tree blocks available and set them into a Block as a Quilt design so there were different sizes and complexity. Each of the members taking part received the foundation papers and the background fabric pieces by post. They had a rough colour chart but could use their own fabrics. So this is the final result. The quit top will be raffled amongst those taking part and they can then complete the quilt by adding supplied wadding and backing fabric. They can then quilt it to their own taste.

I love the tree sampler. I have been wanting to design a quilt with trees and this gives me a nudge in the right direction. Mine will show trees that are multi-colored with big dollops of snow on top with a navy background and snow on the ground. I’m still designing it in my head.

Hi, I have just been reading again with great interest your journey in making The Tree Quilt. I am asking these question early. Both my children in 2025 are celebrating their Silver anniversaries. I would live to incorporate, some of the trees into their quilts . Both households, outdoor couples, this would be right up their pathways.
I am avery slow quilter, and don’t belong to any clubs but gave been quilting forc30 years.
Please how may I purchase a pattern if possible from yourself.
Yours sincerely Sandra Annear.
