After my mom, Annie Gertrude Ball, passed away in August 2008  I discovered four quilts in various stages of completion. She had completed 24 of the Dresden Fan blocks and had the pieces all cut for the rest. I wasn’t sure how she had assembled them (I need a pattern to go by!), so I scanned the fabrics, created blocks, and designed a lay-out. The 24 blocks that create the large diamond chain are the blocks that Mom created (a chain of love). The blocks that create the center portion and the four corner areas are the blocks that I completed. I then chose sashing and border fabrics. When I had completed the top, I quilted it using a long arm machine at a local quilt shop.
