I purchased the free pattern for this Eden quilt in 2018. This past month I began work on the 12′ squares. When I go to Block B I cut just enough pieces to make one block. Cutting the diagonals one way did using 4″ cuts works but the 4 sq pieces didn’t fit correctly. Is there an updated or EDITED copy of this pattern?? I would appreciate any advise or tips to help me. Thank you, Ann
This pattern the diamonds are all cut in the same direction. They are not like a Lone star block where they need to have a mirror image. All of the strips go around the center in the same direction.

I have had a complimentary copy of the Eden pattern from years ago. In the block instruction section, B specifically; the instructions say to sew together the three strips of fabric. It says to cut 120, 3” strips at a 45 degree Angel. I believe it should say cut 60, 3” strips at a 45 degree angle, and then reverse that 45 degree angle and cut 60 more 3” strips. This will create mirrored strips for portions of the starred image. Otherwise, you end up with 60 useless pieces until you figure out that half must mirror the other half.
I have been trying to get the pattern for “Eden” by Chong-A Hwang. I have not been successful. Do you by chance have the pattern or know where I can find it. I tried Pinterest without success.
Thank you,
Mary Starr
Hi Mary, I am so sorry. I did not know that messages were posted here and I don’t get a notice that someone sent me a question. You can get this pattern on my website. I apologize for the lateness of the answer.
I am a shop owner in Mio Michigan and we are interested in having a class in the “Eden Quilt”. Could you please let me know where I can get the pattern. Thank you.
Hi Judy. I am so sorry. I did not know that messages were posted here as questions so I did not get a notice that you put this message here. This pattern is one of the most popular ones still on my website and you can certainly teach it at your shop. You can set up a wholesale account with me and purchase the patterns wholesale. Feel free to email me back if you are still interested. I also have acrylic templates that go with this pattern.

How to export an image of your virtual quilt from EQ
With your quilt displayed on the Quilt Worktable:
Click FILE > Export Image. The Export Image dialog displays.
In this dialog you’ll select the folder location for saving the file, give the file a name. You should name your photo file using this sequence: First letter of your first name, your full last name, underscore, EQQuilt. For example Jane Doe would name her quilt, “JDoe_EQQuilt”.
Click the down-pointing arrow for file type selections. Files can be saved jpeg.
The next dialog lets you specify the size of the image and other options depending on the file type that has been selected. You should choose 150 dpi and a width of 8”.
When taking a photo of your finished quilt, you should follow these guidelines or we may not be able to display your quilt in the gallery.
The quilt must be hanging vertically straight.
Take the photo straight on (the quilt should not be on an angle).
The image file should be larger than 600 pixels. If you send us the original photo without any editing, that file should suffice.
Do not crop out the background.
Do not cut off the borders or binding in the picture.
You should name your photo file using this sequence: First letter of your first name, your full last name, underscore, FinishedQuilt. For example Jane Doe would name her quilt, “JDoe_FinishedQuilt”.

Hi Ann,
I’ve just purchased this pattern – did you solve your issue with the star pieces not working?
Thanks

Hi Ann,
I am looking to make this quilt but did you learn if there is a correction to the instructions?

I take that comment back. you don’t cut mirrored images, you cut the diamonds 4 inches, not three,

yes, directions are not correct in part B. You must cut 60 in each direction to get mirrored diamonds.
