I designed this buffet runner to perfectly fit the top of my irregularly shaped buffet. (I made the borders 4″ bigger each direction so the quilting wouldn’t make it too small, and then cut it to size.) I thought I’d use it mostly during family celebrations, but we like it so much that it lives there most of the time. I picked 3 designs from the EQ library (contrary wife, odd fellows chain, and blueberry pie) and then designed the block second from the left to go with them. I called it “Look Here” because of all the arrows pointing toward the center. I also want to thank Barb Vlack and Penny (via the EQ Forum) for helping me figure out how to make the EQ project look just like the finished quilt. The blocks are stitched in the ditch, but the borders, block centers and background are my first intricate attempt at free motion quilting. Designed, made and quilted 2011.

My sister wanted me to make a runner for her table for the first Thanksgiving in their new house. Your Celebrations is wonderful inspiration. Thanks for sharing it!
