Each year our guild has a summer challenge. Last year we each pulled a paint chip out of a brown paper bag and had to design a quilt using half square triangles, the paint chip color (mine was deep red) and shades on one other color, I chose gold. I played with several version of this in EQ6 until I found a block and layout I really liked; but the quilt really was lacking some “punch” so I drew the swirling holly vines and added the appliqué. This throw size quilt will be part of our Christmas decor for a long time to come.
