I started out by designing quilts with some of my favorite blocks, designed by Bab Vlack. It had to include some of her Rose of Sharon applique block designs. I wanted to combine these with some of her foundation piecing blocks, which I have on Sew Precise cd’s, because when I first needed to foundation piece, I used her freezer paper foundation method.
When I had some really nice designs, it occurred to me that I could not enter them for the challenge, because sharing the Sew Precise blocks would violate copyright. So I exchanged Barb’s foundation piecing blocks with blocks from the EQ Libraries.
I chose colors that radiate light against a dark background, to symbolize love, comfort and hope in times of grief.
With these designs I want to thank Barb for over 10 years of Club EQ Challenges, and for all the wonderful support she is giving us on the Info-EQ list. I learned a lot from her!
