I started with the layout ‘On-Point Medallions – 9′ and changed it from a square to a quilt that measures 60″x80″ with borders.
I converted an inner row of four blocks to eight half-size blocks and adjusted the center block to fill the space. I also set one of the half-size blocks in the spaces on either side and top and bottom of the quilt.
For the block, I used the ‘Old Maid’s Puzzle’ in the outer blocks and the same block with Serendipity – Shrink & Flip for the center block.
I used a quilter’s prerogative to use shades of blue with the red and white.
