Using the special effects #25 layout I placed the monkey wrench block in the centre blocks to create a circle and then created a block to fill in the corners. The blocks were coloured in various shades of one colour using the lightest in the middle and gradually getting darker towards the edge of the ball.

Combining the light & dark with that layout really creates the effect of a ball underneath the center part of the patch. Thanks.

This is a great layout. I think the blocks would be easy enough to sew. I will have to try this.
