For this diamond mix, I copied a diamond shape from one of the EQ layouts (Stars – 1 I think) and used that on a custom quilt. Then I drew a block with a narrow frame and merged the ‘Sixteen Points Frame’ and ‘Economy’ blocks with my frame. I also drew a quarter of the ‘Sixteen Points Frame’ as a separate block to flank the largest new block.
For the background, I chose a fabric with many colors and tried to pick solids to carry the same colors through all the blocks. I also used my simple frame block ‘empty’ so the background shows through. This quilt would have a totally different feel if another fabric is used.

I love the quilts created for these challenges, especially this one. I just love modern, out-of-the-box thinking! My selfish reason for creating a quilt for these challenges is to see how some of these spectacular quilts are done. My EQ7 creating skills are getting better, but I am a long way from where a lot of you highly creative, imaginative, artistic folks are.
Thanks to all who take the time to impress us beginners!
