I designed an applique after a 7 petal fan to be used as a block and virtual border. The amapola (hibiscus) is one of my favorite flowers and it grows wild where I come from. I auditioned many blocks but settled with this because I love the dichotomy of the very strutctured block and the roundness of the fan blades. It reminds me a little bit of Art Deco Style.
