My very first experience with any type of needlework was at my grandma’s knee, when I was about 5 years old and she taught me how to crochet. Hard to believe that was the inspiration for this table runner. But the idea actually came from a crocheted piece, which I “translated” into fabric. This is a piece I have actually sewn, and mixes traditional and dimensional appliqué (flowers sewn separately and tacked onto the base).
