I work and teach classes at Betty’s Thimble Quilt Shop in Orion, Illinois. I wanted a QOV quilt on display at the shop. I wanted a couple of easy blocks on point as a teaching example. I picked the Friendship star and the 9 patch as together they remind me of the military with the horizontal, vertical, and diagonal lines. I was also new to using EQ8 and wanted to make my own design for the shop sample. When the shop is done with the quilt, the quilt will be donated to the Quad City Quilts of Valor group.
