The end is in sight- here we are at Block 11 of the sew along!
Block #2088
*Remember, if you’re keeping all your sew along blocks in the same project, open the project now so you can add this new block.*
Open BlockBase and click the Search by Number tool.
Type in 2088 and click Search. The block appears on the Search Results tab.
Click the Print Block tool.
The wonderful thing about being able to print your own block patterns is that you’re not limited to using the construction technique chosen by the quilt designer. Many times I find that using a combination of the print styles works best for me.
For example, I’ll be making my block 5″ x 5″ finished. Let’s take a look at the Rotary Cutting chart for this block at 5″ (I’ve set rounding to 1/16):
Patches A and B look easy enough to cut, but I can’t measure 3-3/16″ on my ruler. So I’ll switch to Templates for patch C.
I often find it helpful to print out a picture of the finished block for reference while I’m choosing fabrics. Click Print Block > Block and take a look at the options.
There are three choices under Printing Style. For this block, you won’t see a difference between Uncolored block and White block- they both look like line drawings of the block because there are no overlapping patches. If you choose Colored block, you can use the arrows under the block image to choose which coloring you’d like to print.
I can tell you from experience that an uncolored block printout can be a wonderful tool to keep a three-year-old busy with crayons while you’re trying to get some sewing done!
Click the Print Block tool and choose your pattern type. Type in your finished size (BlockBase adds the seam allowance for you). Preview your printout and then click Print.
If you’re saving all your sew along blocks in the same project, click the Add to Project tool and then the Save Project tool.
Come back on Friday, March 15 to show off those finished blocks!

Thanks Leanne! I’ve really enjoyed leading this sew along. A little sad to see the end coming so soon!

well… after these months of working together, we will have to compose our quilts and then, after a holiday we can have another one, why not?
Thanks for all, Jenny

Hi Jenny.
Very obviously we’ve all – the world over – truly enjoyed this twelve-part adventure and I think we’d all agree it should not end. A follow-on series in some form that would promote your aim of selling EQ and BlockBase, and our aim of sharing the fun, should surely be possible. Let’s try.

It would be fun to have another sew along. This has helped me to learn EQ and It has been fun to see all the great blocks each week.

I have to agree with Don. This has been very good for me! My one friend said she has never seen me this excited about anything before. I can’t wait to finish a block so I can show her. I have shown the other girls in my sewing group and they are very impressed.
I am doing three things at once… Learning how to use my EQ7 program, using up fabric stash that I have had for a few years and making a patriotic lap quilt to give to one of our wonderful veterans in the local veterans home here in FL..
I am so glad I was getting the EQ e-mails, that is how I found out about the swap.
I would also like to do another challenge. I have enjoyed all the comments from all who have participated.
THANK YOU “JENNY”
