I like to create “fabric” pieces using scraps and precuts, then using that “improv fabric” in blocks. Obviously, the “improv fabric” works better in larger, simpler blocks. I can’t think of any one block as a preference as I try to make/do something different every time, whether it’s a new block, new color scheme or a new technique. Thank you for the contest!

I love the arrows pattern. This would even be pretty done with a black and gray background with turquoise and terra-cotta southwest colored arrows. It would be really awesome to win an EQ7. I love the “Hole in the Barn Door” block, often known as Monkey Wrench or Churn Dash. I prefer the block done in the even 9-patch format where each component is the same sized square to form theHIBD block. I can’t wait to get Christa’s book. Thanks for the giveaway.

I guess this might be to simple but I love the Half Square Triangle because of its versatility. I’ve only been quilting for about 18 months, so I’m still learning with the simple blocks.

I am amazed that people actually have a favorite block. Mine would be anything with animals and it could be applique, paper piecing. I just love nature. but then again I am partial to good old fashioned red work/embroidery. I have a Grandmother’s flower garden quilt in our quilt show this weekend. Although I really Grandmother’s Flower Garden quilts, I don’t plan on doing that again. It only took me 17 years.

That is a very hard question. I am addicted for patchwork, quilting and bags maker over 28 years. Choosing only one block is like choosing between children. They all are my favorites.
and working now for years with EQ programs(sinds EQ4) It is so fun to use all of them. I start as with traditional Patchwork bud for a few year I make modern quilt.
The fun is still playing with all the block on my EQ program and make new wonderful quilts.
