I love all of the star designs the Onate the Ohio the pointy stars. I just love stars. I have made a lot of them and gave them to various family members, that is my way of giving back to friends and loved ones. (even strangers) My latest one I am working on is the Baltimore quilts lines I think they are the tops. They bring all of the old ways into view as well as the new. The children’s quilts are just the bomb as they make the children love to learn and play with them as well as sleeping under them.
If I were to pick just one that would be a very had thing to do as I just love most all of them. But the favorite would have to be the star blocks as I love sleeping out under the stars and so do my children, and grand children, so when they are on the bed it makes you feel so warm and cozy, just as though you are under the stars on a warm summer night.

This was much too hard a question! But, I narrowed it down to teapots and teacups. In my mind they go together, so would have to be purchased as a bundle I collect teapots, so that is what finally tipped the scales in favor of these packages. Just another way to collect more!

11:17 am
I had such a hard time deciding between my favourite three of the EQ Boutique Collections! But I think the “Crop Circles” are the winner for me. The combination of circles, flowery shapes, squares and rectangles just looks so intriguing together. It gives it a modern feel but it still has a traditional look to it too.
My two runner-ups are “Baltimore Bliss” and “Flowering Dresden Plates”. I have always loved the more intricate flower patterns, they look simply beautiful. But as I am still fairly new to quilting I haven’t actually attempted these patterns yet, I think I am a bit scared that my blocks won’t turn out as nice.
03-10-2016
11:17 am
OMG…. I don’t know the Boutique Collections existed…. I am starting to learn so much about this wonderful programme! Thank you for letting me know about these wonderful add ons.

I LOVE the Silhouette Cats. Because I’m a cat rescuer and Black kittens & cats are the last to be Adopted in Shelters around the United States because of their color of being just black. Which is sad. I can use these Silhouette Cats to help promote black kittens & cats for adoption purposes such as making a Quilt using the Silhouette Cats & promoting and donating the Quilt when someone adopts a Black kitten or cat to give it a Furever Home.

My favorite Boutique collection is Marsha McCloskey’s Feathered Star. The Feathered Stars look so delicate and lacy, but with all the small pieces, they could be a real chore to design on one’s own. The stars work well on Christmas quilts, patriotic quilts and in congratulatory quilts. Love, love, love the Feathered Star collection.

I love the coast and all things beachy but I also have a daughter that is just making her first quilt and would love to show her how easy it is if you have the right tools. I love dresden plates in general and use them in a number of quilts, however I like love the way Christiane Wipplinger’s flowering dresden plates take the humble dresden to a whole new level. They remind me of vintage doileys (on trend currently in the crocheting world). I can see a quilt which incorporates both my loves – crochet and quilting – come together with the beautiful moda fabric.
03-10-2016
3:24 pm

Good luck to everyone hoping to win, and to the many creative designers for giving of their time and talents for the rest of us to use.

I like the “Crooked Alphabet ” because the letters would be so cute when added to quilts for my young grandsons. From their names to little sayings, it would turn the quilt into an interactive “toy” in addition to a comfortable and loved keepsake. It would be great to add names to the backing of quilts for the older grandchildren and the “crooked” part would make it even more unique. A definite “top of the Boutique” wish list!

Judy Martin’s Distinctive Stars is one I would find usable as a beginner/intermediate quilter. They don’t seem too intimidating or intricate. I’m into making Quilts of Valor (my local guild has a QOV group within it) and enjoy including stars in what I design for them.

03-10-2016
5:58 pm
My pick would be 100 Blocks, Volume 2, as it has 50 pieced blocks in it. I love piecing, the others, not so much. It only has 12 foundation blocks, which suits me just fine. But it has lots of variety, and since I am Scandinavian, Smorgasbord is my thing. I am also frugal, and the 100 block collections are the best value, in my opinion.
03-10-2016
5:59 pm
Fish! I can just imagine piecing a batik background with an entire school of these bright fishies!

It was a flock of pigeons and ever since that say whenever I see something with a penguin I either send a pic of it or buy it for her so she will never again confuse a penguin for a piegon. A quilt of penguins would be perfect.

Erin McMorris and her cupcake collection. For years, birthdays, professional meetings, I make and decorate cupcakes; all sizes too! Flavored icings, a variety of toppings to sit upon the various designs. I then put them on gorgeous stands. What a treat for guests.
So, to do cupcakes with fabric and designs of many types, OH WHAT FUN!!

A dog lover, I love Dog Days by Sindy Rodenmayer and Dog Pound Pals by Denise Russart. As soon as I finish the five quilts in my quilt room I plan to make a quilt for a dog breeder and another for my dog’s groomer.
I have designed a number of quilts on EQ7 and I was so happy when you released the Mac version. Messing with Windows was not only expensive, but frustrating.
Thanks for all the designers you offer and the wonderful software!

It has to be “A Day at the Beach”. Everything about the beach evokes joy, serenity, good memories and more. If you have the good fortune to have a beach retreat, you want to decorate with beach decor. If not, beach scenes bring back all of the good times with friends and family.
03-11-2016
9:07 am
I have mastered many star blocks since I make patriotic quilts for veterans, but now I want to be challenged by Judy Martian, and would love to try the Enhanced Variable Stars blocks.

Fiesta Collection: It reminds me of Talavera painted pottery and Mexican tiles.
We lived in Monterrey Mexico for 3+ years and I fell in love with the colors and patterns.

Well, since I don’t have EQ7 I didn’t know this existed, but I was just on a search for a feathered star pattern that needed to be a specific size and I love Marsha McCloskey’s Feathered Star Quilt Blocks 2. I have been a follower of Sindy Rodenmayer designs for a long time but my favorite is Farm Animals. I would love to win some Moda fabric to use on the baby quilts because I feel like I’m not only making something cute for the baby but I’m showing that mother that are people out there that care about her and her baby. It’s very special feeling thinking about the babies out there who are sleeping peacefully with one of my quilts, or is playing on the floor laying on the quilt. I think there is no better use of my time than to make these little quilts.

I still have EQ5, but haven’t had much time to “play” for a while. I had temporary custody of my three great-grandchildren, ages 5, 6 and 7. A lot of work for a 71 year old, not that I minded, but it did help me to sleep good at night. So recently they have gone to a foster home (planning to adopt)with wonder people, young, christian, great people with three children of their own, ages 4, 7 and 8. We were so afraid that they would have to be separated in different foster homes, but we all feel truly blessed that they are with good people and will have a wonderful chance at a happy life now. And great-grandma can get back to her quilting, even if it’s just looking at pictures in books and visiting the quilt shop periodically for inspiration and to increase my “stash.”
