Today I’m happy to share with you the work of Rita Hodge! Rita has been quilting for more than 10 years, but just recently started using EQ7. She was encouraged by quilting friends to start a blog back in 2009, and if you cruise the quilt blogging world at all I’m sure you’ve seen her gorgeous quilts at Red Pepper Quilts!

Here’s what Rita has to say about EQ7:

“I purchased EQ7 in January 2012 and have spent some time becoming familiar with the software. I didn’t start actively designing and using EQ7 to make a quilt until 2013 and now that I am more familiar with the software I am amazed by the possibilities and love the design freedom that is now available to me.

What I like best about designing with EQ7 is the endless possibilities of blocks and quilt designs. I also really love the support available including the help available built into the program as well as lessons and technical support available from the EQ website; it really is a great community of quilters who are keen to learn and share information. I also rather like that the software comes with a hard copy manual – it has been thumbed through often and there are sticky notes all over it.”

Below is Rita’s Economy Block Quilt. She designed and printed the foundations for this quilt using EQ7! You can also find her tutorial for the block here.

And here’s Rita’s beautiful Kaleidoscope block, also drafted in EQ7. You can download Rita’s Kaleidoscope and Economy Blocks for free from her Craftsy shop!

Rita is currently hosting an EQ7 Giveaway on her blog, so go check out her designs and enter in the giveaway!

And check out her newest finished quilt- Hummingbirds (with another free pattern download and tutorial!).
