This quilt is amazing! We love it. Designed and made by Becky Rhodes, she used EQ6 to plan this awesome tie quilt for her son’s senior high school class to be auctioned for a fund raiser. Wow! Becky explains:
I volunteered to design and make the quilt for my son’s senior high school class. It will be auctioned, with proceeds benefiting the school. As a Catholic high school, all the boys must wear ties and jackets every Friday for mass. At the end of their junior year, each of the 68 boys donated their favorite tie, which I had to design into the quilt. I bought EQ6 for this project and learned it quickly, so I could play around with the possibilities. I designed the paper pieced pattern, as well, on EQ6 – the jacket/shirt/tie blocks. The finished quilt is 106” square.
I designed and pieced it. Emilie Dolan did the embroidery. (each “tie” has the boy’s name embroidered on it) Terri Kanyuck did the machine quilting.
So cool, Becky. Thank you for sharing yoru talent!

Very special quilt. I love it. Inspirational quilt where I’d love to hear more insights on how she designed it in EQ. Especially the center block. Great design. I’m going to go play with my EQ software to try to create a quilt design with such a center motif. Lofe this one.
