Do you have any advice for someone who wants to start quilting who never has before?
The most important beginning task is practicing that perfect ¼” seam.
Use stacks of post-its or masking tape to mark the perfect spot on the bed of your sewing machine to align your fabric against once you’ve perfected the ¼” seam on scraps.

What beginning quilting question do you get quite often? What do you tell them?
What are these jelly rolls for? I show them the dozens of quilt patterns available that utilize the 2 ½” wide strips and also how you can use EQ6 or the Design Wizard to make your own designs with variations on cuts for the 2 ½” wide strips.

What’s your favorite part of the day at work?
My favorite part of the day is when a customer brings in their work-in-progress or their finished quilt top. I absolutely love seeing the talent that abounds and how quilters mix colors and techniques to create something stunning. I’m not talking about perfectionism here, but creativity.
