DO YOU EQ?

Designer, Patti Carey does!

Patti Carey is currently Vice President – Public Relations for Northcott, where she has been for 31 years, indulging her passion for fabric. Patti learned to quilt in the late ‘80s when Northcott transitioned from garment textiles to quilting fabric, making quilts as selling tools for the sales reps, and she hasn’t looked back. She started designing quilts with EQ4 and estimates she has made well over 1000 quilts for Northcott with the assistance of her piecer Susanne. Patti has been a regular contributor to several quilting magazines, including Quiltmaker, McCall’s Quilting, Love of Quilting, Easy Quilts, The Quilter and Quilt Trends. In 2004, she self-published a book entitled “A Taste of Napa Valley” containing quilt patterns and favorite recipes. Since 2009 Patti has also designed and published more than 100 quilt patterns, available through Quiltwoman.com. She regularly travels to guilds, shops and quilting conferences in North America and beyond to lecture and teach. When she’s not quilting, she cooks, travels, cycles, golfs and snowboards with her husband Bill.

“I have been using Electric Quilt since EQ4, and currently work in EQ8. The transition from EQ7 to EQ8 was seamless. It is even more intuitive than EQ7, which I thought was wonderful. Furthermore, it has so many more fantastic features that make designing and making quilts easier. I am having fun exploring all the features of this fabulous quilt designing program that allows me to create quilt images that look exactly like my finished quilts prior to making them.”
