DO YOU EQ?
Designer and instructor, Geraldine Wilkins does!
My appreciation for the art of quilt-making reflects the joy I experience when I observe God’s creativity in man, animals and nature. I began my quilting journey with a Virginia church group in 2006. Since then, I’ve made many quilts and joined three quilt guilds. I am a founding board member of the Fredericksburg Modern Quilt Guild, where I was the Program/Educational Director. As a former Westalee Design Accredited Teacher, an Island Batik Ambassador and Designer, and Juki America Educator, I lecture and teach at quilt shops, retreats, and guilds.
My quilts have exhibited in local and regional quilt shows, national touring events and shows with Hoffman Fabrics, American Quilt Society Quilt Week at Paducah, Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival, curated exhibits at the Virginia Quilt Museum and juried Sacred Threads 2019 exhibit. Featured in “Designer Spotlight “article published in the July/August 2019 issue of Quiltmaker magazine. I am a contributor to the following quilt books: 1000 Quilt Inspirations 2015, The Quilter’s Planner 2017 and 2020, and Free Motion Framework, 2018.
View my quilt designs in McCall’s Quick Quilts, Quiltmaker, McCall’s Quilting and Pre-Cut Patchwork magazines. My work as been featured on the websites of quilt industry partners Island Batik, AccuQuilt, Sew Steady, Quilter’s Dream Batting, Fat Quarter Shop and Quilt in a Day.
“Now, I use EQ8 for all my projects. I design quilts, bags, whole cloth quilts, project totes and more.”
